Nice flying man!
Just got my first Nitro kit, also a 3D+ and hope that it will go like yours is!

I just took mine out for the first time in what seems like forever. It really escapes me why I hadn't worked on it sooner. Gotta love the smoke baby!!!

You guys are killing me-mine is still sitting!

I figure it should pretty much be torn down completely (I got it used from a friend, but it has been sitting a long time).

Probably will have about 20 hours in it when I am done.

I do have a test stand set up for airplane motors, and am hoping to get the motor close to being tuned on the bench, prior to installation. The motor is slightly used (came from a different friend) and has never been installed in the helicopter.

Nice! Going to get my old 3d+ airframe back and maybe try to get it going soon.

It woul be nice to see a revival of the model. I think most of the last holdouts of the supreme are scared to their down with them due to concerns over parts. Mine's going to fly all-out until the day it goes 6'under.

I wouldn't hold your breath either from what I've been told...most parts like this have been out of production for some time now, and I from what I've been able to gather, they don't expect to either.

The clutch shoes themselves are limited to what's still in circulation. There have been a couple interesting ideas about repurposing them from other machines but so far the Velocity and T-rex clutches are out of the question.

I was going to attempt making a few in partnership with my local machine shop. I just haven't really gotten around to doing it yet, unfortunately.

Same as the knight or a different unit?

It's different. The Knight had a clutch like a Raptor (thick, solid chunk of metal with the appropriate lines cut for the shoes). The + clutch looks similar to a Trex where it's mostly hollowed out on the inside and wider around the flanges. It's supposed to save weight and maybe add frictional drag to the shoes because of the wider surface area but I certainly couldn't tell a difference. If anything, it was a bit of a step backwards, but I'm sure they had their reasons for trying it that way.
