What sort of flight times are X5 owners getting with the 4200 packs? Im currently doing basic stuff i.e. stall turns, flips, loops.. what sort of flight times could I expect? 4-5mins?

When I went out flying today for my maiden flight, I timed mine for 5 minutes. Just basic flying. When i got home, the cells are averaging 3.8v/cell.

EDIT: When I charged the battery again, it took 2342mah back in.

This flight here took 2850mah back into the batts.(4200 VX Hyperion) Was new pack and they say the hyperions get better with flights. 16tooth pinion, 100% flat, 12 degrees collective,7.5 cyclic.

changed the PWM frequency to 8KHz today and yipeeeeeeeeeee. If it was a drag engine, i'd say it picked up another 500ftlbs of torque ontop of the 2000 it already had( ok i'm exaggerating ) . Keeps pulling like a train and we still have room for more tweaking and was only flight number 3 on the packs.

Happy happy happy chappy

Hi,

Finished the X5 and 8 flights on it now.. I wasn't planning to build it this week but work gave me a week off..

So I don't have a 6S battery yet, these flights are all very tame on a 5S.. but it does well..

I'm still a beginner in the scheme of things with Helis, but already loving the X5..

It feels like I bought a Formula 1 Racing car to drive the kids to school...

Vid here.

Thanks for the report and thank you heaps for the vid+ review+ comments. Can hear your grin right through it which is tops to see.
Seems like you have her in a nice zone and flying looks very comfy and smooth.
The 6S will wake it up a far bit . Just a suggestion and everyone's style is different, the stock setup with the supplied 16t is quite a hot one and very nuts might find it better with a 15t and higher throttle input. Still more than plenty power but without that i'm going to tear a hole in the sky feeling

Please keep the vids and thoughts coming

Enjoy

Thanks Vas, Yes, i went very conservative and am using a 14 T pinion.. With the 6S battery that is plenty powerful enough for my skill level for the foreseeable future.

But what a great heli it its.. easily my favourite.. I just added some red fins.. this is almost up to 60 flights
