Default Intrepid Turbine w/ Jetcat SPH5

Doing a customer build of our Intrepid Turbine with the Jetcat SPH5 Turbine.

I won't do a step by step, but just something of a progress update type of thread.

Turbine showed up yesterday so we'll start there...

Neat. Would also like to hear some of your thoughts on the Wren 44 vs the Jetcat SPH5. I'm also curious how well the governor works on the SPH5.

There is no comparing as they are 2 different sized Turbines. The 44 is great for the 700 sized heli with its light weight and great power. The SPH5 is larger and heavier, best in our 800 sized helicopter.

I have built a number of birds with the Jetcat, mostly in our Industrial Turbine heli for heavy lift/ high altitude flying. The governor works as advertised, never had any issues with it.

Hi Chris,

Would it be possible to show a photo of the fan and the kero start unit?

Today's progress.... Servos installed, clutch system, main shaft and drive system.

Next we'll finalize engine placement and gear alignment, then begin control system linkage setup.

Very nice.

Just one thing. it looks like the electronics sitting directly above the turbine exhausts.
