Default 697 or 717

I have my finger itching to get the new Logo but not sure which one to get, which combo would you recommend, the one with the 697 or the one with the 717? And why?

Thanks

717 perfect for the logo 700. The 697 was designed for the 690sx. It doesnt fly as good as the 717 on the Logo 700.

I have both and honestly I like both. I put on the 697s on windy days. Of I were to chose 1 then I'd go with the 717, but if you're a smack pilot you might like the shorter ones

I was gonna say when I watch a Mirko flight I think 697 and nothing else, when I watch other amazing flights on 717's I think 717 and nothing else haha.

I haven't had a chance to try them yet as the ground is still very snow covered here, but I went with the 717. I'm not a smack pilot.

Did I miss something or are the main the only difference?

If so I might as well get one and buy an other set of blades But I guess based on what is being said the 717 will probably suit me better since I just smack once in a blue moon.

No one says you cant smack on the 717. I like it way better than the 697. I fly mostly 1900HS and 2000HS if I want to smack it around and do some fast flying. Pro pilots are flying with 717. Kyle Stacey, Kyle Dahl and Mirko. Mirko started on 697 and eventually switch to 717. You should watch his indoor flight on the Logo 700 on 717.

Only difference is the blades. Also, note the kit doesn't include a pinion so you'll need to order one of those as well.

I understand that but I like a more "floaty" feel so I guess the 717 is probably more incline to be so than the 697. But do not worry I will smack it too just not all the time.

Also note you'll need a motor with a 6x55mm shaft. 13T & 14T pinions are available.

I must say that after watching mirkos flight that a 700 electric machine should not be flying in that space..I don't care who is flying. My thoughts.

Impressive flight though

Disagree. I would be much more at ease in that little gym standing up close watching his flight than I am at the club with acres and acres and average pilots.

That was a special hall at a rc model fair. Spectators protected by safety nets, only the pro's where close to the models.

I finally got the 717, now I have to see if I go Pyro or Scorpion or XNova and which one.
Pyro 750-50L I guess, not sure about Scorpion.

I went with the Pyro because I’m switching over to Kontronik ESC and I’ve been told they work well together.

Mine is setup with a Scorpion 4525 Ultimate (not the latest one) and a Tribunus 200. It’s a great combo. I run 717 too and they feel great. I havn’t got the tail perfectly locked in though. But also I havn’t had a chance to fly much so I havn’t really tuned it. Even so, the heli feel great in the air, monster power, great cyclic feel.

I think you need to consider weight as well, when considering blade size. I went 4400 12s packs, jive120 and Pyro 700-52, so ready to fly is just on 5.1kg, and that disc loading on 697s is really nice. If she was a heavier configure, then 717s may make for a better choice of disk loading and feel in the air. Batteries are the big weight, and can vary a fair bit there, from brand to brand. Just saying, maybe consider config and overall weight as well, when considering blade size....
