Default so, is there a "best" fuel

i went thru a case of wildcat this year and had no issues at all. but, i see that the oil content stated was lower than the engine mfg [os and ys] recomends.i need a new case. thinking of changing to byrons for the greater oil content. or do i stick with the wildcat? either way i have to order it online, so it doesn't matter as to whats available locally

Isn't it a pain in the a$$ having fuel shipped? I switched from wildcat to Byron's. I did need to retune the needles quite a bit, but I can't really say one is better than the other. I switched due to oil content and availability.

If you go with another fuel, remember to re-tune the engine.

What is the difference in oil content...maybe 2 or 3 %? Are you sure you got the heli blend? If so, you'll be fine. A number of people use the Wildcat fuel with no negative issues sited.

I use 30% nitro Wildcat which has 23% synthetic oil. My O.S. Engine manual says to use a fuel with at least 18% oil, so I'm good. If you're running a fuel with less than that it's prolly not meant for heli engines. I'd say you need to find a fuel that does have at least 18%, either a different blend of Wildcat, or something else if you can't get that. Then of course like everybody says, ya gotta re-tune.

Hope that helps.

I've tried Outrage, Byron, and Rapicon, and all are excellent fuels.

Default Rotor rage works and smells great

Motor looks like new after use too. No staining.

I was using Torco 30% at some point and it was really good. I've heard that it is one of the best. Last few gallons using CY 30% and not too impressed with it.

Wildcat can be had in either 18% or 23%. Here's a link to their website:

http://www.wildcatfuels.com/container.html

Since 18% is within the specs, and you've run a case through with no trouble, I'd say you're good, although I personally haven't used the 18%. If I recall correctly, I've read of some freaks here who do use it. I stick with the 23 cause that's what I started with and my engines seem to like it.

i have used wildcat 30%, rotor rage 30%, cool power 30% and magnum 30%. Out of those 4, the magnum fuel give me the best result. lots more power and the engine runs much cooler.
