Its a SAB (Italian blade manufacturer) heli division helicopter that's just about to hit the market... there are a bunch of threads and videos popping up.

Their website is under construction, otherwise I would post a link... but you could find the videos in here, just do a search for goblin heli.

$1000 for the kit but needs electronics. HeliDirect sells it and deliveries will start on Dec 18th (estimated).

I spec one out using the same setup as their test pilot and I think it came up to around $2500. Isn't that the price range of a TDR? If so, I'm not sure what's a better choice.

If you consider it comes with SAB main and tail blades the cost of the kit is more like $850, which puts it in line with other non-align 90s.

Ive got 3500 in my TDR. I think the Goblin will be about the same if not more for me.
That being said, you could build it cheaper than that.

It doesn't matter TDR or Goblin or Diabolo or anything else price wise... costs are almost always the same. Electronics is really expensive... just take a Heli- or Power-Jive, add a limited edition Scorpion, use some HV servos and the VBar is nearly a present after that. Than you have to use some good lipos like TPs 65c and you have a really monster machine.... which costs quit a lot. I ended up at 3500 Euros (5000$) with one 12s TPs. But I'm thinking about going 16s to lower amp draw and being able to use some cheaper batteries.

About the question TDR or Goblin... I had a TDR and sold it because it didn't fit my flying style. A rigid frame with a descend head and main shaft is my main wish. Goblin offers a solid drive train, 12mm shaft and 10mm spindle shaft... that's why I want one.

Dual belt as well I'm told? A Belt from the motor to the pinion, driving the main gear, and belt driven tail. I posted a short vid of Tareq testing one at the Alpine Smackdown. Bert took it for a ride too...Took a solid beating for sure. Look for the vid.. I freaked when Tareq took it into the flowers and POOF.. there was flower dust!! I digress..
I'm really looking forward to some more detailed inspection and videos...

Klaus is right...when you add up the package, the kit is about what, 30% of the total? So, say, $2700 USD versus $2900 USD...there's more variation in that by far associated with ESC and servo selection. Of course, who'd build a Goblin 700 with less than pretty high choices for everything. Sure would love to have seen it at IRCHA. I heard one was there, but if it was, I missed it.

The Diablos on the other hand were there in fine form for sure! Wicked indeed!

I hope SAB is successful with this new bird. The selection of incredible helis is getting broader all the time, and they're all practically excellent.

First stage belt, second stage gear and tail belt with some bigger / higher gears.

I liked the flights with Bert and Tareq, BUT that is not proving the heli can hold up over time with a few flight videos, almost anything can look good after a flight, but on closer inspection you could see other wise.

My thing was the geometry, I like everything else, and Klaus mentioned servo flex vertically not sure how you would solve that but im sure it could be solved, what motor do you plan on running.

I don't know the exact ratios which will be possible. If it doesn't have a much wider range my 4535 which currently runs in my e720 will get a new home in a Goblin. Otherwise I'll go for 14 or 16s...
About maintenance and so on... that's one of the questions which will be answered over time. I really don't think that there's a machine which doesn't need maintenance within a few flights if it's flown as hard as Tareq A. does. Anyway, we'll see it within the next half year.

What esc do you run with the 4535

In my TDR I used a HeliJive and now in the e720 I have a PowerJive 120HV. Allways with KSA enabled. My first HeliJive died after a commutation error on day 5.

I also heard from other that current went down from ~300 to ~200 - 220... I can't say that this happened on my. Maybe I/P+ would help?
The only thing I'm missing with the Jive is the aggressiveness like on my VBar / Fusion Hawk combo... but at the end it doesn't really matter, flight time already is down to 3:30 - 3:40 with 1800rpm... I maybe should stop flying full pitch all the time
