Well that is a bummer... The X3 looking better every day

I realize that it is not a direct compare because the X3 is a basic machine, and the L is a all pre bling kit.

But through the years I have had many of Align kits from the 450SA- 450Pro, and in the end I always end up changing the Align stuff anyway, and adding aftermarket, so It was a no brainer to try a kit that was bare bones.

Looks like I might end up trying to stretch one of my current Pros with the boom, TT, and blades, and adding the new motor if it gets good reports!

I especially noted the 360 blades, 460mx motor for a positive.

And the negative was the ungoverned HS- which probably means the same Align ESC.
And the DS 415 servos. Which I think have too much play in the gears.

But an otherwise stellar bird that will no doubt be the next big thing.

WoW
Fast!!! I think my 450 sport is the fastest 450 I've ever seen. I can't do 3D like that though. But my bird has 9:307 gearing on 6S with tweaks to the bearings and drivetrain scorpion and kde motors (alternate between the 2).

My headspeed is on the high end. I run 3800 something ungoverned because I can't get the tail to hold in gov mode. My pitch is 13.5

Did no one notice the DS 430M cyclic servos in the last video???

They are also red in color... could they be HV?

Sounds like Align may have improved the DS415 and its slop.

It also comes with the updated tail blade holders and thrust bearings.

This is epic.

Now I'm seriously wondering how much the kit is going to be... It sounds like it might be a true all in one kit. No upgrades required. Buy this kit and own the baddest helicopter on the planet type of deal.
I just back ordered one at Amain for 559.00 Will be my first kit build.....

Will likely sell the 3gx and put an Ikon in it instead........

Koi-fish. Amainhobbies do price matching. Email or online chat with them and give them a link of a US vendor that has the same item in stock. In this case, the 450l kit is in stock at rcdepothobbies for $503.99. They will honor that price. You just can't use the "save $25 for orders $250 or more coupon".

Lot of chatter going on in the Align forum about this (you will need to read between the lines as google translate is not perfect). The problem is not the elevator servo, it's the Ail and Pit servo, the rear of the casing is nearly touching the main shaft and the MKS DS95 and their clones are "deeper" than the align servos and would foul on the shaft.

1300mAh, and AFAIK there is only 1 or 2 decent choices in that size.
Unless anyone else can confirm any 1400+ that fit?
I was thinking about the maximum size of lenght, width and height??

They do not fit inside the rails so all i did was first put a strip of 3m double sided tape on the battery tray then the Velcro to space them down away from the rails by another mm or 2, they slide in nice and easy now

Nice Pictures

What is the size of these Turnigypacks you use?? Lenght, width and height??

For people with questions on the battery area, this is a gens ace 1200 40c pack. With Velcro the height is about maxed out(battery fits sideways) but still has a few mm of clearance on the width

Length is not an issue at all

Way cool thanks for the heads up. Just sent an email to their customer service dept with the relevant link

This is exactly what I would do if I already owned a T-Rex 450 Pro, I wouldn't say it's worthwhile to buy a complete new heli if you can easily upgrade your pro:
460MX motor $60
450L boom + TT + push rod $19
360mm blades $20

The only major advantages or the 450L airframe are more protected batteries and probably more rigid airframe.

Just put the digital vernier on them
28.8mm x 35m x 107.5mm

Default MKS Servos

I like the DS95 big time.

In this thread https://www.helifreak.com/showthread...highlight=450l

The author says he shimmed the MKS DS95 servos by putting a washer between the servo mount and the servo to stop the servo from hitting the main shaft. He only has to do it on the Ail & Pit servos. The Elev servo fit fine.

Is it OK to do that to just two of the three cyclic servos? Aren't you changing the geometry of the servo to swash push rod angle and introducing an uneven swash motion?

You have to shim shim the servos on a 600efl Pro to use a non-Align motor as well. It never caused an issue with mine.

Also, *could* you shim the other servo if you wanted? Just to make them even?

What if you shimmed that offending servo as well as use a longer bolt on ball link on servo arm with shim? Thus effectively shifting servo out a little but keeping same geometry.
