I'm new to RC flying, having just recently gotten "hooked" by one of the "toys." I've been flying my Nano for a few weeks using airplane settings. I liked it so much that I added a 350 QX to the fleet. I fly both of them outside, but the little Nano is great inside during cold weather. The heli settings that you provided seem much smoother and more controllable to this Noobie! Any chance of working up a heli profile for the 350? <hopeful look>

I agree, the heli settings seem smoother on the Nano QX. I got the 350 QX, been able to take it out once, due to living in the north. Bought the nano to fly inside. Loving it, spending more time with it than my helicopters. Would also be interested in heli settings for the 350.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! I dreamed of getting a 350QX at release, and haven't yet had a chance to lay eyes on one in person. Most of my process is trial-and-error. I just haven't had a chance to try a 350 yet Depending on how this year shapes up, I may end up looking into that.

I just bought a QX today. Thanks a lot for the settings!

It’s fun to fly inside during the cold weather and love this little guy.

I just installed your settings into my dx6i. My nqx is so much more responsive now in stability mode. I'm still not good enough for agility mode yet so I can't comment on that but from what I've been able to do the changes are outstanding so far. Thx guys for all the hard work you've put in.

Default nano

WOW!!l this things a blast...I got extra lipos on order and it's killing me to wait on th one lipo to chargge.

coming from a heli background and thinking ....I got this no problem (in safe mode of course)...I flip th switch to agility and ...BAM!!...POW!!,...BOOM!!,..hahaha..what a humbling experience.

fun fun fun...til you dady takes th NANO away,..lol...th only thing now is learnin th flip....it still seems a little slow to get her to rotoate.

should I up the travel adjust...I'm using a dx6i...I figure aileron and elevator,...but what about the rudder,..will it piro faster,..or the throttle and pitch...are they switched?

I'll mess around with her but if someone could give me a more definite answer,..I'm all ears.

thanx again for this thread,...luvin every minute of it.

Default rates

dummy me,...I've been flying in low rate till I remembered th high rate,...I was just thinking that when I flipped it into agility it would be in high rate automaticaly,...now I'm havin even more fun...

still think it should flip faster though,...do I up the rate mode or extend the travel adjust..again ..if I don't get a reply I'll probably figure it out by experimenting...thanx guys.

I'd say up the travel adjust, 125% makes mine really quick, almost so that I only really use that when I want to flip in agility mode. Experimenting will teach you a lot about your transmitter, I heavily encourage it!

So using elev d/r in pos 1 while in stability mode just makes it a little more twitchy than at 0 but then changing it to agility mode is way different? I'm about to get my nano in a couple days so I just want to know before I fly

I just got mine after work today. Im a Futaba man but have a DX7 for my Blade BnF stuff. I set it up as the manual said but didn't understand the DX7 stability to Agility setting in the Qx manual saying toggle between Flap 0-2-0 position. Finally I activated flaps to SYSTEM ...who would have known that this puts it on the only 3 way switch the DX 7 has...the flight mode switch so now it works..A little info in the manual would have had me in the air an hour earlier but this little bugger is fun and I don't worry about charging packs like I need to do with my 12S stuff
That gets me between stability and agility but dang..agility is pretty sensitive. Am I doing this correctly

I like this thing!

Yes, d/r position 1 will cause more dramatic response to your controls. Agility mode is a whole different ball game, with a separate learning curve. They're a blast, great little trainers.

Ive been trying to put these settings in my DX7 buit as soon as I select HELI, I cant set a common D/R switch on either the aileron dr or elevator dr switch for some reason

is CH 6 the one I need to reverse and I maybe be selecting the wrong choices on the Aux 2 menu. I tried to use all of of them systematically but I usually confuse myself...easily done

Can anyone using Heli mode on an old DX 7 hook me up with the proper settings?

Thanks

It all works. I ended up reversing channel 7, don't know if it even matters. I can toggle between Stable and agile with the flight mode switch and throttle hold works just like when I flew fixed pitch helis

I just cant combine dual rates for ail and ele on the Ail switch like I usually do when using Heli mode for some reason...Oh well

Default New Dx6

I just received my brand new Dx6 radio and on Swash Type the radio doesn't have an option for "1 Servo 90 degrees" . I was thinking about picking "3 servos 90 degrees" as a closest choice.

Anybody know what I should do?

Is it a DX6 or a DX6i?

Dx6, the newest one. I also have a Dx6i that works perfectly well for the QX but I am giving it to a friend.

The black one. It is still back ordered on HH sight. Could you post a pic of it? The old DX6 wont work with DSM2/DSMX.
