Default Installing magnet in hurrican 50 fan

I was hoping to use my Kasama fan on my Hurrican 50. It's a really sweet fan and has 2 holes pre-drilled for magents. But last night I found that it will not fit.

So.......................

The Hurrican 50 fan only has one hole drilled for the magnet. Have you guys only been installing one magnet? What do you do to balance out the weight?

Or has everyone just drilled a second hole and installed another magnet?

Just fit one magnet and ensure that the fan is mounted so that the magnet is in opposition to the piston i.e. when the piston is at TDC the magnet is at Bottom Dead Centre. This way the magnet will help oppose the naturally out of ballence engine. Done that with mine with no vibes. Check out CSM website look at the instructions for the revlock for a full explanation.

Just to clarify for any others reading this:

I did not know what he meant by "the magnet is at Bottom Dead Centre"

According to the CSM website, it means when the piston is at top dead center, to mount the fan such that the magnet is furthest away from the cylinder.

Hope that helps.

Funny Guy!

It's not wasting space - it's going back in my Raptor 50.

Nice try.....................

Balance the fan with some washers under the screw opposite the magnet. I have now run it both ways (balanced and not as per csm) and it is much smoother balanced)

And make sure you lube the spindle, I have also tried this both ways.

I just very carefully drilled another hole directy opposite of the existing hole for the second magnet. (very, very carefully) the fan is thin so take care. Rusty, is there an aftermarket metal fan that would work on the Hurrican?
