Default YGE vbar signal work on iKON?

I have a YGE 80LV esc with the built in vbar wire for governor signal.
My understanding is although the plug has pos, neg and signal wires the pos is not connected to the ESC.

So, can I use this adapter http://helidirect.com/servo-to-jst-adapter-p-28434.hdx to connect the wire from the ESC to the iKON so I can use the built in gov?

Default Sv: YGE vbar signal work on iKON?

Did you cut the positive (red) or do you need that?
I have a yge100lv with vbar or phase sensor output and it would be nice if I can use that cable instead of a separate rpm sensor.

I soldered the orange wire from the esc to the grey wire on the sat connector (signal) and the black wire from the esc to the black wire on the connector (ground).
Did not connect power, not sure if the ground is needed but figured it couldn't hurt.

Looking at the VBar thread it looks like they split the slave cable and just run the signal wire to the vbar gov port. They then run the power and earth from the slave connector to a spare channel for extra BEC supply for servos etc.

I will try mine with just the signal wire and see how it goes.

The 80LV does not supply power on the 2nd lead, the red wire on that cable is not connected (missing entirely on some versions) only the 90/120LV versions supply power on that cable. Just connect the signal and ground leads to the Brain.

I have a YGE 80A V4, I purchased the above suggested adapter. I'm a little confused in what the final call is. Do I cut the wire? Am I soldering wires?

I removed the red wire to be safe, it should not be necessary but it sure wont hurt. You should leave both the signal and ground leads though.

There is no need for power to be supplied from the Brain.

I have tried all combinations of the YGE's with phase sensors connecting to brains.

If using YGE 90/120, just connect the signal wire to gov port, put the other two into the brain for more BEC power.

If using YGE 60/80, I have connected all three to the gov port, although I suspect only the signal is needed, if you look at the ESC board, the red wire is not connected to anything and the brown wire is prolly connected to ground.

Correct, red is not connected (missing completely on the MSH branded ones) and brown is connected to BEC -ve.

Default Works with no ground?

Hate to drag this thread up but My YGE ESC's have had the grounds clipped since it was redundant for VBAR. I _could_ solder em back on but is it needed? Isn't the ground common? I use external BEC and wanted to avoid this potential ground loop.
