I've this case with a Blade300.
If you were running 4S on the EOX 4100kv motor, and used the 14t pinion, you would be set up for a gov'd head speed of well over 5,200rpm!

You would have to run your throttle percentage waaaaaay down low to keep it at a more reasonable head speed. To run the throttle that low is a serious risk to an ESC that does not have active freewheeling. Even if you did not burn up the ESC, you are running it so inefficiently that the flight times would suffer greatly.

I'm sorry, but I think this is a very bad idea.

Torque.
Gearing for same head speeds I am running 3S un gov. at, but with 6S I'll have heard room for gov.

I like the 11T on the 3S set up. Motor and ESC runs cooler for me, but no head room for governor. 11T is my personal sweet spot. Gearing the 3S for less torque but more HS for the room for gov. falls out of my personal sweet spot.

So going 6S, same HS but room for governing.

This is why there is so many combo's of motors and gearing. We all have a personal sweet spot.

With the 11t on 3S, It sounds like your "sweet spot" is in the 3400-3600 range.

3S with the 4100kv motor, and the 13t pinion will give you that same range, but with the benefit of the governor.

You would get a similar range from the 6S, 2500kv motor and an 11t pinion. I suspect however, that you will be getting shorter flight times.

I only do 4 min max flights anyways on all my birds.
Any more and my (physical, not my mental ) nerves are shot and need a brake.

Yes, I am going with the 2500kv and with the DX8 I will be shooting for 3 flat curves between 3200 and 4000.

This will also allow me to play around with 3s super slow HS.
Teach me to rely on good Collective management rather than HS and power with any of my birds.

I love trying new things.

PS. This will also set me up for stretching and 3 blade head when they come out.

I'll be curious to see if it even gets off the ground at 2200-2300rpm!

Yup I'm in the same boat, my oxy is begging for 3 blade and stretch

Nice lower head speed 3d with some sick sounds of 3 blade awesomeness!

6s is the way to go for more flight time. The more your voltage is, the less amps it needs. But voltage stays more consistent during flight, so peaks will be less too.

I'm pretty sure it will fly at 2200 rpm, I'm able to piroflip my 473mm bladed heli with no problems.

I only provide my experience as I've the case with my Blade 300x.
I fly 6 minutes with this heli compared to 4 minutes with my Oxy3 using the same Lynx 245mm blades and the same lipos 4S 1300mah and same esc. One is at 65% throttle, the other one is running at 80 or 85%.

Got my 6S conversion on the way. Now I watch for the stretch kit and then it's "Take my money, AGAIN" time. You know I love my stretches.

Last sunday I did a demo for the Dutch Red Bull Paperwings final. The Oxy here will be used for a review in the Modelbouw Aktueel. I've got some pics:
