Default Loose dampers

Has anyone experienced loose (sloppy) dampers on the spindle shaft? I've had my oxy for a year, several spindles and damper sets. Never a problem before, tried new dampers and spindle shaft. Same problem? Dampers tight in main hub, translates to a lot at blade tips as you can imagine. New dampers on order. These are the white dampers. Probably .002 slop, seems strange

Hi,

Did you add shims?
Adding shims will take away the slop.

Cheers!

I think Lynx actually recommends checking the head play after 100 or so flights of "break in" and adding an extra shim each side if needed.

It's also 2-piece dampers. Make sure you have the black piece that goes in first. these are some of the toughest dampers I have ever used.

50 - hard 3D flights, check for play and add shims until head it tight with no play.

Default Added shims

I added a shim to each side, seems to have tightened it up good. I had a mild motor on 3S on it last year and put on an Xnova 4S this year, the head sure broke in more than I expected. Thanks for the info guys. I love this little machine!

I managed 366 flights crash free and still counting

I replaced nothing on the O3. I do have a belt coming over though.

Wow, great! I believe it will be a new record: 366 flights without crashing and replacing anything.

Made it to almost 800 before selling mine. It's called babying your baby by flying within your limits..lol

If it had a touch less power I would have crashed it at least 4 times. Always had just enough to pull out of trouble at the last second.

Another area to check for is the DFC arm. I just reloctited mine when I noticed a screw was a little loose. But the symptom was the same
