Excellent looking 300X! It actually looks like a "Kit" Heli.

Would you consider doing a parts list of all the goodies you've put together built to make your 300X into a proper Heli?

Some of the upgraded parts/electronics I recognize; would like to know more about those low-profile skids...

Thanks for the comments..

Ok, parts, here goes...

Edge 325 Mainblades
Blade alloy maingrips
Lynx dampers
Lynx main head block
Blade alloy follower arms
Blade alloy Swash ( the swash balls have a small standoff = no binding. Update?? )
Lynx Anti Rotation bracket
Lynx Ball Links throughout
Ar7200bx
Hobbywing Platinum Pro 40A esc
Savox 0257Mg cyclic servo's
Eflite 440 Motor 4200Kv
Lynx 11t pinion
Lynx Maingear
Standard shafts
Stock mainframe
Lynx Frame Stiffener
Lynx canopy mounts
Stock boom
Lynx boom supports
Next-D Rave 450 boom brace
Lynx tail servo mount
Savox 0262 Tail Servo
Lynx tail boom clamp
Blade alloy tail box
Lynx vertical tail fin
Blade alloy tail shaft
Stock plastic pitch slider control arm
Custom tail slider ( it goes align bush, blade part, align part, heli option part )
align hub
align grips
Lynx Tail blades
Stock tail pushrod with Lynx ball link one end
Blade SR Skids
align 250 skid nuts
Blade option canopy

I think that's everything,

Shortened all wiring for a neater look, fitted the Sr skids which are about half inch lower and narrower and only need drilling to fit, removed as much play throughout the machine as possible using shims in the head and the align parts and options in the tail and Lynx upgrades where available.

Very impressive. What's its weight, ready to fly with canopy and battery?
Which batteries do you use and what headspeed / flight time do you get?

Cheers
Steve

Seriously, Thank You for taking time to build this list!!! I'm rebuilding 300X #1 and I have a lot of newer ideas on what parts to buy now. I think I'll give BLADEs aluminum tail box a try... The LYNX tail boom supports I'll have to get from their web store since I can't seem to find them anywhere else.

Thanks Again Griff1

It really didn't seem like that many parts when I was building it.

Steve, I've no scale to weigh it at the moment but i expect she's put on more than a few grams over stock mostly due to motor but also the servo's and of cause the alloy parts.

The Lipo's i'm using are Overlander 1350 40c, I believe the cells are made by fullymax.

At the moment I've yet to maiden this bird, I've been busy building a 500pro for a friend and the rest of my time ive been pre occupied with my goblin 500.

I'll post maiden flight results here when I get chance.

This was one of the first posts in this thread, but I gotta say:

This looks freakishly similar to my mCP X BL...

LOL, it looks different nowadays. I went back to the stock red/white canopy, yellow BLADE tail blades, and Edge CF 253mm main blades.

Do you have a photo of your mCPX BL posted?

Sweet! I ordered one seeing as how my mCPXs with brushed motors & well used Lipo's are getting tired; I converted one of the mCPXs to BL but it still has the stock brushed tail motor.

Below is one of the latest photo's (Dec 2012) I have of the 300X twins...the top one is going through an overhaul due to a minor crash

What kind of minor crash was it?

My BL isn't doing too hot right now though.... after a crash the tail motor stopped working... replaced the tail motor, checked the tail wires, and the tail still doesn't work... I think my tail FET is gone, I need to call HH about it

Well...I was in the process of balancing the tail (bench testing went very smooth but in flight the tail fin was a vibrating mess) outside in windy conditions that sported 10 to 12 mph gusts. The 300X was about 6 inches off the grass in a IU1 hover when one of those gusts tipped the blades just enough to tap the grass and send it on a double tumble, ending with a solid thump. The second user error was that I was tired and trying to correct the vibrating tail; too in a hurry to get it all running smoothly Yes, Throttle Hold is my best friend...hit it and watched the tumbling occur.

Damage was main gear, slightly bent tail boom, boom supports, belt, spindle shaft, possibly the main shaft, and a minor chunk out of the lower elevator ball link. That chunk was from the front of the frame flexing enough to allow the 320H motor to take a bite out of it. The stock canopy survived and not so much as a scratch on the Edge 253mm CF main blades. Servo's are fine and no bent links.

Remember, all that damage was just from roughly 6 inches off of the grass and luckily for me, I guess, it had rained pretty good earlier and the ground was fairly soft.

Plus, the temps were hovering slightly above 40*F and I knew that the stock Lipo with 72 cycles literally hated operating in temps below 50*F...because I was tired, it didn't register and that was probably what was causing the erratic tail vibes & wag in flight.

sorry about that

LOL but I'm surprised the servos didn't strip..
How you liking those Edge 253's?

also, you should try those Pulse 1350's.
http://www.helidirect.com/plu35-1350...es-p-26549.hdx
And report how they work... they can't be worse than the stock batteries, and there just a little more than half that the stock ones cost

Also, take a look @ this:
Blade 300X Tail Mod (9 min 34 sec)

That's a T-Rex 450 tail holder.

Thanks! Yeah, I have the T450 tail hub & grips and everything else (LYNX, KDE, MicroHeli parts) except a good OWB. I'm still waiting on the LYNX OWB assembly to come out and I'm also waiting on reviews of MicroHelis offering. Reason being, I've had two 300X main shafts develop back & forth play after just 50 flights; the lower bolt hole showed signs of ovaling out and luckily for me they didn't snap/break in flight.

I really like the 300X but the cost of upkeep is getting high. Both of my 300X's are the first batch that BLADE released back in July 2012. That's why I'm thinking of just keeping my one functional 300X and selling the other one after repair...or just sell both. My eye's on the upcoming GAUI X2 Formula for my small "yard" bird.

Oh, the CF Edge 253's are awesome main blades for the 300X. Like always, the Edge blades were balanced and tracked perfectly. Their profile and lighter weight gave the 300X more head-speed and float. I just preferred them over BLADE's CF main blade offering; which I tried and found that they didn't suit my flying style.

Almost have this little guy where I want him. Has the following:

MH carbon fiber blades
Lynx dampeners
Lynx frame stiffener
Scorpion 2213-14 with 12t pinion
CC Lite Ice 50 with CC quick link
MH canopy

Enabled governor for the first time this evening at 3200/3400. Got a lot of pep to it. I may go back to a 11t pinion to experiment, but we'll see. Only thing I lack now is to upgrade the servos and put a set of 450 size tail grips on it, which I already have . That'll come in a couple of weeks as I ordered a full set of Align for one of my 450x this morning and I'm tapped out. Time to just enjoy it and hopefully not spend any more cash on it for a while:

OOOH if I had a dollar for every time I said that... I could have another heli or four.

Looks good. LOTS of power for a 300x that's for sure.
