can't u just run HV through the beast X? Specs look up to it, but now I'm hearing some rumors that you shouldn't run HV through the beast X unit????

Love the fancy drawings. I checked the spec. The Beast is good for HV. Not that this is any use if you have to fly a split-voltage setup coz you have an old-fashioned LV tail. Still, I think you guys are too fancy. Why not simply run everything of a 5V BEC and then peel away the +/- lines from the swash servo plugs. Insert these lines into a second plug, then simply connect those to a second 6V+ BEC/2s Lipo. That's my plan, since I need to beef up my current BEC anyway.

You won't run your HV cyclics through it.

I run a straight 2s lipo in my Nitro and E helis. I either use an Outrage HV tail servo or use the Spektrum 5.3v regulator for the tail. I want to MAKE SURE though that 8.4v to the Beast X is going to be ok. The specs say it is, but I've read in some threads that people were having issues. But I can't find specific cases, just rumors.

Hey Matt. Didn't see your reply before I posted a repsonse.

Don't mean to be obtuse, but what is the issue trying to run 8.4v through the Beast X unit and cyclics? If it can't run that voltage then why is it spec'd for higher volts. I don't like running regulators as I like a simple/clean setup and less points of failure then.

SPECS:
Operating voltage: 3,5V...8,5 V DC (Lipo 2s possible)
Processor: 32Bit ARM
Analog processing: 17Bit
Sensor technology: 3 MEMS angular rate sensors
Adjustable servo center pulse width:
Tail: 760μs / 960μs / 1520μs
Adjustable servo pulse rate:
Tail: 50 Hz / 165 Hz / 270 Hz / 330 Hz
Swashplate: 50 Hz / 65 Hz / 120 Hz / 200 Hz
Build-in swashplate mixer:
Mechanical / 90° / 120° / 140°
Serial pulse input:
PPM / S-BUS / Spektrum-satellite*
Size: 34 x 25 x 13,5 mm
Weight without cable: approx. 20 g

I run my cyclics straight from the battery, only signal passes thru the beast. Yes, it will handle 8.4v easy, it's the load on it that causes the bottle neck effect.

My recommendation is to separate cyclics from the unit. There are a few different diagrams on how to do this with or without a reg in the BeastX forum here.

Short answer- yes, but all that current passes through the BeastX.

Better answer- do one of these

https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...2&postcount=12

https://www.helifreak.com/showpost.p...4&postcount=13

Only TWO connectors provide power to your whole system after the beastx, elev and ail.

Another option: swash servos at HV and tail servo at VBEC.

When you power feathering servos through microbeast and tail servo separately.

OK!
This schema has a VBEC for RX, Microbeast and SWASH servo and another power supply (XV) for the tail servo.
Please, remember that in this configuration you shouldn't use high current swash servos, becasue the Microbeast V+ copper tracks are not designed for high current.
