Default Step by step guide to JLog?

I am trying to setup my first JLog. Kontronik Kosmik, Jeti REX7 receiver. I understand that all of the information should be in the j-log.eu webpage, but I am having trouble deciphering the information.

1) Do I need to format the SD card before use? Either the JLog SD card and/or Kosmik SD card?

2) How do I read the information off the JLog? Computer program? DataExplorer? Something else?

3) I believe I made the connections between the Kosmik and the JLog 2.6 correct. I pulled the red wire out between the JLog COM port and the Jeti REX7 EXT. port. Anything other connection that I need to do?

4) Is there some sort of driver I need to download to make the Kosmik communicate with the JLog?

-Yes, format the jlog sd card.

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

-I don't recall having to format card in my Kosmik.

-down load the "Configurator JLC". You will find that on jlog site

Pay special attention to matching up files with the equipment you have, i.e. Kosmik 160 (version xx.x, Jeti tx, jlog 2.6)

You will need to know your motor pole count and gear ratio.
7.82 with 21T pinion, 7.44 with 22T for your Gaui R5.

That should get you off to a good start.

Although this is specific to jlog 2.5, the road to understanding the system is basically the same. Mark did a great job with this and am glad he elected to put it together for those of us who are not so computer literate.
