Kyle said that it flew extremely well and the only place that he really felt the additional weight was in the hard stops. It probably didn't help that I had the helicopter slightly nose heavy. Kyle got 4 minutes 12 seconds of hard flight with 10% left in the pack. Head speed was 2800. The 3700 pack gives him about 3 minutes. Personally I would not recommend a battery this big for 3D flight. Go with something smaller and lighter. I am working on the video now. |

Does anyone know if there is a quantum motor available for the 500? I really like my quantum on my 700.

Ray,
This is the exact setup I am thinking of going for, but I'm a bit confused on the fact that the BLS251 is rated at only 4.8V. Are you running the BLS153 at 4.8V as well? How exactly does this setup work? I know I want to run at 6V, so this slight detail is keeping me from pull the trigger. Please let me know, any and all help / feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Shane |

I found this info on the Heli Direct website.
"Typical Speed Controller: 80/100A Normal and 3D Flight: Kontronik Koby 90, YGE 100 LV NARD 3D: Kontronik Jive 100 LV, YGE 120 LV, CC Talon 90" Is "Nard" 3-D something that happens in your pants from flying one of these? |

I'm going to try the new Talon 90. I've had good success with Castle products in the past, and the Talon 90 looks really promising

Yep, just ordered one of those too. Looking like my grand total to get this heli flying will be about $1400, only $400 less than I have in my 700, thought I got my 700 on black friday deals

I'm robbing all the electronics out of my logo 400 except the motor. Going to get that quantum motor for it.

Goblin 500 Kit-- $649.99 Talon 90-- $75.19 HiTec HS-7245MG (3)-- $203.37 Savox 2272MG-- $119.99 AR7200BX-- $201.29 Scorpion HKIII 4020-1100-- $189.99 Scorpion Backup Guard-- $24.99 I'm right around the same price point you are, I didn't factor in batteries since they are a shared cost with several other helicopters.
