Default Stock Charger SUCKS!

So last night I was charging up my batteries in preparation for today's soccer field fly-in. Sadly, we got cancelled on account of rain.

Anyway, I put my battery on the charger, and waited. This was about 9:30-ish. So, I figured I would go to bed and a put a movie on my iPad for a while. Well after midnight, the charger was still in balancing mode and I can't believe how freaking long it takes these stock chargers to charge these tiny little two-cell batteries!
I guess it was a good thing it's raining this morning, cause I probably wouldn't even have had charged up batteries to fly with anyway! ARRRRGH!

Any suggestions on a good charger for these BL batteries? Also, are there better batteries? Thanks!

Sure there are great battery options available for our mcpx BL. I hear a lot get the nanotech and I personally have had good results with the lightning power. I recently saw that pulse released their 300mah battery too, so add that to the list.

As for a charger, I own the icharger 206B. Great charger, and I have gotten all the add-ons for charging all my different battery types as I parallel charge. waiting to charge up my batteries for a long ass time is a thing of the past.

Make a leap into a good charger and you wont regret it, you'll find yourself flying waaaay more as you'll cut down all that down time charging and using that saved time to fly instead.

I've got the nanotechs, better power and I think they might last longer but I don't time my flights, I should I know. I just land when it starts bogging.

I've got a cheap turnigy accucel 6 charger running off a modified computer power supply.

Default Stock chargers do suck

Yes buy yourself a good charger one that will withstand the test of time one with a parallel board so you can charge up to six batterys at once. ...I recomend the Icharger will last for years to come.

Yes, I have that same charger, and use it for my small (mcpx BL and receiver pack) batteries. Be advised though, if you move up in the hobby you'll need a bigger charger, but this one is perfectly fine for smaller batteries.

Is this the BuddyRC paraboard you are recommending? Micro Paraboard - PH3 for UMX and 130X? SKU: EPB-3002
http://www.buddyrc.com/micro-paraboard-ph3.html

I have Bantam chargers. Does a paraboard offer any advantage to a harness style like the RC Accessory below?
Parallel Charge Cable (6X) for UMX Beast, Blade 130X, MCPXBL
http://www.rcaccessory.com/ph206xparcable.aspx

So is the plug type = PH3 for for MCPX-BL lipo (E-Flight 2S, 7.4v, 200maH, 30C)?

What does UMX style battery mean?
