I pulled it out of the closet and will see how it runs at the HFFF. A few nitro wizards there and I will see if they can do anything with it. Hard to start. Cuts out. Maybe I fried it again after the last rebuild. Running it rich, but not having much luck.
If not I'll go get the OS105 bling bling edition and try again. I really like having a nitro for night flying under the construction lights. It's way better to have a slower machine under the lights. And I like the fog. |

These are my observations from moving from a OS to the YS Tareq. Not to mention the needles are opposite between brands. I had my fair share of burnt up pistons and sleeves learning the differences in tuning. Last edited by Baedarlboo; 10-05-2016 at 09:37 AM.. |

I've owned both motors and ended up selling the 91SRX and run just the 105 now. The only reason I bought a 91SRX was due to some of the issues I had with the 105 the first year it was out. Once O.S. got the high speed needle valve seat and piston ring pin issues sorted it's now really easy to tune and makes great power.

Found my plug was a little loose and shot. Replaced it. And after a while it started up and idles. It's never started easily though. Always have to crank it for some time before it turns over. A quick backyard hover and it's running. Will hopefully get some flights out of it at HFFF. And then order the OS105 Bling edition and hopefully have a fuss free setup. |

To be fair, I know there are people with 91 SRXs that seem to run fuss-free as well. Maybe after you get some flights on yours at the HFFF, you'll find that yours is good to go, after all.

It's a shame the fan shroud will cover that nice look motor up. Someone needs to come up with a clear fan shroud!

Well the old 91srx somehow ran ok all weekend at the hfff spotlight flights. But the airframe keeps falling apart. :-(. Still had a blast burning the nitro in the night air.
Once this motor is dead I will try this OS. :-) |

That's purdy. Bling makes it faster right? Like chrome tappet covers on a small block chevy!

Just keep crashing and you'll kill the SRX soon enough. One time you'll bend the muffler bad enough it'll take the crankcase out with it

Mine wasn't, unfortunately, and it also destroyed the Hatori pipe that was attached to it. I had less than a gallon through it when it happened.
I like the black crankcase on that 105. I wonder if the crankcase is available as a spare part? I think I'll so some searching...
