Default Need new head bolts for 105 hz-r

Probably a stupid question.

I stripped the head bolts on my 105, fortunately managed to get the bolts out eventually and saved the engine. There's no way in hell I'd reuse the bots.

The manual shows M3x15 sized, can I just order any bolts of that size or are they made out of a specific metal? I don't see a 12.9 steel or any other markings on them so I'm not sure.

Need to order some asap so I can get the engine back together.

Nothing special about them. Just run to the hardware store and pick up the right size.

If you really stripped the threads I doubt it was on the bolts. I have seen this before and it is usually the alloy case that gives in.

Unless you mean you knackered the head of the bolt which occurs by using a poorly fitting driver, as I am sure you are aware.

I think there is more thread in the case for a longer bolt. You might want to check that out as well.

Already got new bolts. Threads weren't stripped, the hex heads were. Wasn't due to a poorly fitting driver either, I only use quality drivers. They were in so tightly that it actually twisted my driver 90 degrees, thought the darn thing was doing to snap! Incredible how flexible that metal is.

Anyways, problem solved. Had to grind down my hex afterwards, since these screws ruined it.

Will never tighten like that again.
