Think about DT600 using 6s5000 packs. Any advice?

I see he is using ice120 and looks like dt motor but 1200kv.

Or just go 12s 3300?

3300's give plenty of flight time.

I haven't tried 5000's, but it would obviously be heavier and cg differently. I guess it wouldn't hurt for you to be a guinea pig again.

Great pilot. That 6s pack sure isnt happy though. Check near the end of the video. Lol! Round as a salami at the deli.

6s would be ok for the average or sport pilot though. Just not beating the snot out of it like this guy.

I doubt it would suffice for a sport pilot. I used to fly my Logo 500 (550mm blades) on 6S, with less strain on the power system than I put on one now, and the pack always came down really warm. Maybe 8S would be OK for a sport pilot.

Yeah your right. For low head speed would be the only way. 1600 kind of stuff.

All those 600s out there, and no pics in the pic thread?

I'm super excited about my new-to-me, and looks almost new, DT600. Just got it pieced together to confirm parts and shipping survival, will check everything in detail later. Wider skids on until after maiden as well. Looks great.

Thanks Richard!

Looking good. Glad to see there is still interest in the DT line.

I had heard so many good things about them, my next heli was going to be a Compass or DT. When the deal of the year came up, I figured it was better to jump in now, while parts are still widely available. Looks like a great group flying them, too.

You should be good on parts for a while. Shannon is pretty well stocked. And the 600 seems to be the least popular model so you won't have too many people buying up the parts.

Default Pics with blades!

Posted in the KBDD thread too, but I got a good deal on blades too. The colors are perfectly matched, if the pictures don't show it right.
Just need to learn to set up my SK720, I'm very excited!

Default DT 600 Humminbird

There was an active DT dealer for a few years then they closed up the shop. I happened to buy a DT 600 Hummingbird as my first large helicopter that I could see from a distance (astigmatic vision). The dealer put a DJI Naza H on it, and Ive been happier than a pig in *oop with it. Eventually stopped using the Naza as I progressed. I still use the Naza when letting a newbie to helis get the feel of what investing the time and money into helicopters is all about.

Originally I painted it orange color to match my Angry Birds canopy. Only last year a servo to swashplate pushrod failed and it fell out of the sky.

A friend knew of an original Hummingbird frame, tail boom and canopy sitting on a shelf so I rebuilt it back to original style. I'm trying to copy the link here to one of the recent videos.
