Adjust shim below the auto gear hub and the lowest bearing block as shown on page 34 of the manual. I'd make sure the bearing caps for the thrust bearings are tight as well.

As above, that's where to install the shim. I found I still had some play after installing the Synergy one (109-112), so I used a 0.2mm one from a Gaui X7 to eliminate all the play. You may have to remove the bottom bearing block to install it.

Part is here: http://www.gaui.com.tw/product/washe...17x0-2_x10pcs/

Also available in the bag of mixed 'main gear hub washers' for the X7.

Anyone else have any luck with this? I installed a 0.2mm shim in there but the play returned immediately, which makes me think it's actually just the bolt hole being slightly larger than the bolt. The solution to fix this same issue on my X7 was the wrench down hard on the lower jesus bolt to make the hub grip the main shaft. Worked a treat. However is it safe to do this on the 766 hub or will I warp it? I know some hub designs can't be wrenched hard on or they'll warp out of shape

Little update and bump here. I've only been out flying a few times this year.. I just passed my 3rd year flying as well. Lately I've had a bigger urge and also have been eyeing up new locations to fly.. found a beautiful one and decided to give it a go today.. was so nice the 766 deserved a video opp

I love this heli soo much now.. I blew up my old YGE160hv around Christmas screwing around with gains too high actually blew the cap solder joints right off.. saved the heli in a nice graceful auto rotation so about 8 weeks ago I finally got off my ass and bought a new HW 160hv for it.. I am running it on the stock HW gov and this things tail as now as locked in as ever!! Also the weight gain was completely neutral and actually it's better now because all the weight as at the nose vs some towards the tail before due to the BEC.. so my battery balance is much nicer now.. if only these tail covers were cheaper... hmm

Anyway here is my flight from today hope you enjoy! The 766 is without a doubt my most powerful heli and I only fly it at 1700rpm..

Here is part of mine. Just putting the pieces together. I will be flying it with a TRM 310tt gas engine. I will test it with 716's and 766's to see what feels better. It should be a fun project.

I'll just leave this here. Had some fun last weekend at a new location way out in the mexico mountains. Was a bit windy.. gusting over 30mph on occasion.. not my favorite conditions but another beautiful spot I wanted to share.

The 766 on the HW gov has really fixed all its tail issues I'm very very happy with it Now!! In fact it's starting to get more of a "Smack treatment" from me as I am gaining full confidence in the tail.

Thanks Grimmy. 1550 and 1700rpm in that video. Plenty for me the 766 moves so well at low rpm.
