Default KDE SXT Head on Align ? linkage ball size

Hi guys,

i have an old Align 550 V1 and decided to upgrade with the KDE SXT head:

AT550/600 - SXTS

BUT the KDE ball links supplied in the kit do not fit (far to big) the linkage balls on my V1 swashplate ?

do any of the more recent stock Align linkage balls fit ?

thanks
Steve

Sorry, no. But I am running one on the 700N. Flies excellently. The balls are larger, I've noted. But KDE sells links to fit them, so that is what I have. It's a nice upgrade.

you have to be extra careful with align parts....they make so many different versions for each heli, they will change the ball size on them without telling anyone, they will change spare parts without telling anyone. its just hard to get it all right the first time. my first KDE upgrade head, i also had to swap some balls out to new ones to make it perfect.....KDE is steady with their parts, its the align heli that changes and messes it up! hahahaha the align kit that KDE designed the head off of probably had the ball size the head comes with....

align is just as bad with head dampers, and main shafts....they change them all the time...linkages too...

The 550 and 600 use 5mm balls for the FBL links for some reason. Completely unnecessary but there it is. The swash driver links use the 4.75mm balls like the flybar version so you have two different sizes of ball on the upper swash.

Align isn't alone in making changes to parts without telling anyone, most asian helicopter companies do this.
