Is everybody afraid to fly theirs? Are they still trying to figure out how to get the darn battery inside without breaking cables or causing problems. HH should have had the same issues with the battery. No one thought, Hmmmm maybe we need more room inside.

I just got mine from the BF sale.

I figured out you have to lift all of the wires in the cockpit out then put the battery in then shove the wires back in to get the canopy to close without hitting it with a hammer. Also shoving the bind plug connector further back into the body gets it completely out of the way.

I put a 130x battery in it and it fit. I just have to make a adapter to fit the JST plug.

I have over two dozen 130x batteries and don't want to buy AH 64 specific ones.

I made the bind plug smaller by removing its outer casing then stuffed that to the right side of the motor. Then moved the motor leads and plug under the motor. The battery then slots in under the motor with the balance/charge plug in the nose, then the battery will sit down flat. I stuff the excess battery wires into the nose the the jst plug sitting on top of the battery. Got it down to a fine art now and it's hardly a hassle and takes just a minute to sort.

Had it for two weeks now and flown almost every night. Ive been looking forward to a scale chopper like this for years and it's finally here

I've been playing around with it which means trying to take it apart.

First thing that I found out is that the body is glued together and the mechanics slides forwards a little.

I was able to twist the motor plug around and push it back into the fuse getting it totally out of the cockpit. The bind plug had to stay in the cockpit but the stock battery fits in better and the canopy closes better.

I think the biggest pain guys will find is just trying to insert and remove he battery.

Did the Blade the blade team worked overtime to make sure the 130x battery wouldn't fit,LOL.

I was having to use tools to get a hold of and remove the battery, that's not going to work.

Came up with a solution.

Remove the shrink wrap and make a tape finger grab. Now it just slides in and out.

Excellent idea. I had already removed the shrink wrap but hadn't thought about the tape finger tab.

Just got mine today. I'm definitely going to have to refine my battery shoe-horning skills.

There are actually two ways to force the battery in (wires toward front and wires under motor), they are described in one of the threads. Takes a bit of practice.

I ended up pushing the bind plug low under the motor. I use the "battery wires under motor" method, seems to work best for me.

I seemed to have gotten mine working. First, I cut off the heavy blue shrink wrap. I use Deans Micro Plugs on all my models so that is one if the first things I did. Since I was replacing the plugs , I also cut off all the extra wire that is not needed and ended up with the following...

The balance plug is in front of the battery tucked in the nose section.

Finally getting some warm weather so I took it out for a few flights.

I tried when it was just above twenty but I think the tail blades can't handle the cold, one broke off in flight.

I didn't like the cyclic feel then I remembered that HH had it set to 25%expo in their manual.

I like a connected feel around center stick so I put all expo at 5% and 100% D/R.

Much better.

Flew three packs this evening and it flies very smooth and quiet. It is really for scale flying. It is a little different to get use to as it is not to responsive. I lowered my expo down to 10 and it is better. It does seem to bob or rock a little fore and aft, maybe it is the slight breeze causing it?.
I do like it and it is cool looking in flight. I just am going to have to do some tweaking.

first time i had the mechs out of the body, unplugged the bind lead and put it away in the box. if i ever need to rebind, i know where to get it.
motor connector and wires vertical along fuse side under canopy support lip.
did the heat shrink removal, tape pull tab thing as well.

I flew it around the backyard today it was a bit gusty for it but with the new gears in it sounds better then it has ever sounded, it still wobbles a bit but that could be the gusting

it does look cool in the air. looking forward to a reduced wind day
