Default 2 defective gyros in a row.

I ordered a Black Widow from RC Aerodyne and when it arrived I saw this:.

I returned it and they sent a replacement which arrived thursday of last week. When I installed it on Sunday I found that the pitch channel has a short or bad connection that causes the collective to jump up and down when the wire is touched or the plug is wiggled. I swapped the wire, the receiver and the gyro with another Robird and it's definitely the gyro.

So I got two bad gyros in a row. I updated the support ticket on sunday and got no response so far, so I've opened a second one.

EDIT: They just responded this morning, sending it back for replacement. Third time's the charm I hope.

I learned a long time ago that I am a magnet for product defects for some reason.

I haven't had any luck with aerodyne product support. They don't carry replacement parts for the products they sell,They say they have them, then when I call them, they say that are out of stock, mater of fact I just called them today to see if they had 3x35mm screws for one of their 4 blade head, Nope out of stock. I mean come on it's just a screw. lol

Is the black widow a clone of the robird? Or are they both clones of something else? Seriously considering the robird for my next project. Seems like a great product at a great price

Robird is not a clone ,but it's a great fbl gyro for the price and it's very reliable and impressive. Easy to setup too. I personally own 2 of them and haven't had any problems with them.
