5 to 10 min is an unusually long time so it appears like it crashed due to a related issue. Should be no more than 2 mins and typically 30 seconds on subsequent flights on the same day.

I've mentioned here simple V1 mods that can be done to massively improve GPS lock times and compass cals should be done if any 'toilet bowl effect' is noticed. Also applies to V2 Phantoms.

V3's are much better in many ways and because they use the GLONASS sats too. Mod not needed.

In any case the startup procedure times should be learned and always similar otherwise its an indication something might be wrong. Fortunately the DJI Go app with the V3 informs the user in more detail what's happening.

That's an awfully long time. My V1 bird never took more than about a minute, or two at the most. Were you flying in very cold weather?
