Blade preferences for the HD 500
For the mains, I like the HD main blades and RJX 500mm blades. I tried a set of my favorite brand of Rail 516 and didn't like them as much. Since I jacked up my HD blades, I am now using the RJX blades and really like them. For the tail blades, I am using the Rail 80.6 and they work great.

After going to many different blades I ended up using the Switch 503 as main blades. For the tail I use different once (incl. Switch 86 mm).

I found it to be a bit on the floaty side. The size of the blades are pretty minor, but the feel of the HD and RJX blades makes it feel right. That is with a beastx and I plan on switching to the Ikon 2. This is mainly for tuning purposes and like the idea of having different banks to chose from.

Hi,
the original blades are really reactive on cyclic. But they are a bit smaller than other Brands. So you need a little more head speed for collective. But all in all they are really great and neutral. The switch have more traktion an make the Heli more stable and precise. So I have always on one machine the originals and on the other one a set of Switch Blades. Now it is up to you. A friend of mine decided for RT's which also run very very well. Cheers Marco |

Its almost 2 years that I tried about almost 10 sets of blades different brands.
The original blades have been really cool on cyclic as Marco mentioned. The RT to me also have been great on cyclic. Amazing responsive but also require a bit higher head speed. My favorite blades have been Switch after all the tests. Handling was similar to Rail but they are a bit less heavy. Cool for me - with those I was able to bring head speed down to 1050 rpm for cruising around and 1300 for slow motion 3d.
