They dont detect a voltage drop at all. In fact the sat has no way of knowing it it's been 'out' for a nanosecond or a year. All it knows is that it started up and detected the same two frequencies that it was operating on last time.

This is why on DSM2 you should power cycle the Tx when you power cycle the Rx.. this way the Tx selects two new frequencies so the rx doenst mistakenly assume 'brownout' when it starts.

This doesnt apply to DSMX because DSMX doesnt pick two fixed frequencies, it 'hops' between many.

turned out to be a bad satelite, swapped it out for another and the light is solid now. I had already repaired the connector and hot glued the wires going into the connector body.
