In tx gyro setup, I key in the value which is 30 but its not in HH but in rate mode. How do I set the 30 value wt the T8FG?....is it <50 (rate) and > 50 (HH) on the T8FG?

Of course it warns me, that's not the problem
The problem is when I fly in idle 1 or 2, then hit throttle hold and land (practicing autorotations, tuning engine, etc.). It could be possible that I forget to switch it to normal before flipping out from throttle hold, that bothers me.

Ahhh....

Don't know about that one. You can program a slow ramp-up when you turn off throttle hold.. like have it ramp up over 2 seconds, or whatever you choose, to try to take some of the impact off. Otherwise I think you just need to be the brains of the operation, not your radio

now with the switch in the position you want to be hh mode, select "gy" and "avcs".

now the tricky part. flip the switch to where you want it for normal mode. change the "#1" to "#2". now change "avcs" to "norm"

that sounds more complex than it is, but if mecuriell can get a video up im sure a picture would be worth a thousand words....lol
can we choose "gy" although its not a futaba gyro?

Thanks Christ,
I set it already, all this while I was thinking that the "GY" type will not work for other gyros.

FWIW unless it is explicitly stated, I haven't seen a tail gyro that WON'T work with a specific radio.

Glad you got it all figured out

I've always used GY with HH tail gyros ... no problems.

When I used a telebee head holding gyro I could never get it to work. No matter if it's set on normal or gy. Anybody have a telebee head holding gyro to test it out?

Ok people this 8fg pitch curve is confusing me, please help!!!
I want to set the normal pitch curve to TT raptor 30 recommended settings for a newbie.
Which is 18 38 55 75 94

Now with the 8fg its negative from centre downwards,so do I just take +18 from -100 to get -82 and so on or do I have to go positive with a plus 18 and so on.
And to add to the confusion the Raptor has 2 mechanical setups for collective so should I set up for intermediates/3d and let the pitch curve do the taming down or do I setup for a newbie in which case the the collective is controlled mechanically (to a point) and I dont think a pitch curve will make much difference.
I hope some one can help,
cheers,
Paul

You don't have to make your pitch curve exactly as it is in the manual.
Take pitch gauge, make sure you have 0° at mid stick (you're mostly gonna fly in Idle Up later, so get used to 0° pitch at midstick), about -3° at full negative (in normal mode) and if you want it to be tame, let's say about 8-9° at full positive, and make your pitch curve from 0 (midstick) to full positive linear.
I'd do it that way.
