Default Ordering a Diablo

I emailed Gerd about a month ago about ordering a Diablo, so i could find out if there was a waiting list and havent heard back..

I know there is a waiting list for the TDR, how does minicopter work? if i "purchase" through the website what is the typical turn around time before the kit is ready to be shipped.. Are we talking months like the TDR or weeks?

After ordering mine it took about three months. You just need to place an order on the website and you will be asked to pay about 1 week before the kit is sent. He will confirm the order by email. You will also be sent an email 2-3 weeks before the kit is sent to finalise on your particular requirements.
I spent the three months collecting all the bits to go in it and before I knew it it was here.
Oh, and the turn around on parts is excellent. I orderd a few things on Monday and they arrived today.

Great

Time to purchase/order... I have servos and FBL ready to go.. It will give me time to decide on motor and ESC (Outrage9180/88, SK540). Im leaning towards Xera 4530-500k for motor and YGE120HV ESC...

Im after h/s 1800-2000- 2100. I like flying smooth 3d and big air. Im not a smack 3d pilot...

Do i need to go as high as 2100? The trend seems to be to run 700's at 2200+ but the few videos ive seen of the Diablo, it seems to have plenty of pop for 3d at 2000..

Xera 4530-500k is a good motor. KDE are also making what look to be good motors also. May be worth considering? But I bow to the expertise here on motors. Its a very personal thing.
I just got the 600XF today, looking forward to trying it out on the 600.
They have done a vid detailing their motors. https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=419379
and some flight vids https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=411950

Diabolo ordered!!!

I was reading a bunch of forums last night and i seem to recall some mention that the Xera 4530-500kv wont fit the Diabolo, can anyone confirm this?

I do like the KDE/Neu but it is heavy,100g+ heavier than similar spec motors. I like to keep my helis as light as possible. A 100g here , 50g there and before you know it you have added 500g (1/2kg) to your heli..
For my flying style i dont think i need 10kw.. If i was to get into speed stuff then it would be top of the list.

Ideally i would like a setup that will give my 5min flight time at around 2000-2100 h/s using 4400 size packs. Would that be achievable on 4525 scorpion or 4530 Xera (if it fits)? Or would i be looking at 5000 size packs?

The xera 500kv and the quantam 500 both fit 100%, but yes they are abit heavier then the 4525-520 scorpion.

For lightness and torque think you could consider the Pyro

The new pyros we will see soon are quite a treat indeed, they finally have some "BIGBOY" motors coming very soon as well. Right now my Scorpion 4525-520 Ultimate is working awesome.

The Pyro 800 will not fit, it is 63 mm diameter and 8mm shaft.

So do you pay any duty or import taxes when ordering from Germany?

Just curious. I was thinking of getting some stuff from Mikado direct too because I can beat readyheli prices on what i want, even with the 35 euro shipping.

I contacted Chuck the end of May and I just got my invoice couple days ago informing me that it will ship out from Germany 06/22. It is very easy to deal with Chuck, he answers questions promptly.

I'm assuming marcosp is ordering directly from minicopter being that he's situated in Argentina

unfortunately for me being in canada it works out being more expensive ordering directly from Peak. About 200 bucks more per kit plus I have 2 points of delivery Germany to US then too Canada which further delays my shipment.

Chuck has parts in stock so make more sense for me to order them directly from Peak not so much the kits.

Yeah, I placed the order directly. Peak intermediation meant more cost in my case and less flexibility regarding canopy colors and additional parts. I ordered both landing gears, alu and CF and 2 or 3 pinions. I also chose red canopy, white Diabolo and Matt black windshield. I must have placed the order two months ago, give or take. That and Gerd sold me a brand new unflown and equipped Voodoo 400 he built himself (wow!) that is coming in the same box, so it's kind of a kangaroo shipment!!!
