If the shafts and boom are the same size as all the other 450 Aligns, that's more than reason enough.

I bet it will be. I am not saying a 5mm spindle won't bend like a 4mm one but it will def stronger. You don't know how many spindles i had to change from very minor crashes.

Yupp, in almost 3 years of owning my X3 and literally countless crashes, I never bent a main or spindle shaft. That includes when my X3 exploded due to a shitty Lynx blade departing the blade grip...

The picture with the speed shroud on the tail boom looks super fugly to me!

Seems Align might feel the sway of market demand! I have to lmao watching over the 450 market since 2007, and the whole market demanded TT, and now they are back to wanting belts!

I will state that the older Align belt system was terrible, small pulleys and bad ratios. I would call this more of a Logo design than Protos, the uni-belt has it's weakness too. To me, this over main gear large diameter pulley is the way to go!

As far as shafts go, Align will do themselves a disservice if they try and use the Pro stock stuff... But we'll need to wait I guess, to see which route they go there.

Yea I wouldn't mind seeing Align fatten up the shafts. It's not looking good though. The bearing block and the rotor housing look like the same parts on the 450L and Pro. That might be part of their crash repair business model. Cut into their profits.

Bigger shafts are for crashing... not performance though. That's a questionable need.

Definitely agree that Align still screwed up the 450 speed fuselage. They just refuse to get the proportions correct. Make it look like the 700... but smaller. It's not that hard. They always make the boom too wide and bulky... like a boat. It looks ridiculous. Again. Probably still ruins the COG.

From what I've heard here in Taiwan the main and spindle shafts will be 1mm thicker than previous.

I will likely try the Protos 380 rather than the 480L if they have not changed much other than the boom and added a belt the the Align.

After having had a large cross section of the last generation of "450s" that were stretched to 360s, I like the look of the changes they have instituted to that model, two belts, bit like the Goblin, but option to do a proper CF tail, or stick with a AU boom.

I am in no hurry to try a 380, just kicking tires right now, so I will wait and see what Align has done. I do like my 450L, but I have to take into account, crashing is part of flying for me. Once I get comfortable, I start to get low and stupid, cause it's part of the fun

I know some people like the "all in one box" that Align offer, but I typically don't like all of their stuff, and throw much of it away. That's not to say it isn't fine, it's just not for me. I have had great luck with their motors! But I like different FBL controllers, servos, and ESCs.

Well, they do seem to be offering a lot of kits that are frame, blades and motor, which is what I really like. Let me pick servos and FBL.

Yup, I have a 700L and I did use their servos, and they seem pretty good, but on the 450Pro and 500s I used their servos and ESCs, I was disappointed to be sure! The stuff worked, but once I tried some other "aftermarket" goodies instead, it was brought to light that I preferred those results.

My 405L I got the yellow box kit, it had the wider BB, blades, and motor, great value!

Ahh yes, they finally fixed the tiny butter shafts.

Nice electronics too. But WHY the hell did they not put a HobbyWing

Yep should be a fun little bird. I know a lot of people did not like TT on this size as it was easy to strip the gears, the belt should work much better for this size.

So the "M" is for metal edition. Will there be a light weight plastic edition?
