Default Which CF Props?

What is everyone's preference with CF props, the slowfly type or the tapered Graupner type.

RC Timer and others have both types available at similar prices, which type for what flying?

Thanks for all responses.

Pete

I like the graupners when you can find them. I had to order from overseas but worth it. Had vibes with balances slowfly props and quad felt a little soft. Graupners were vibe free and response is real crisp. Had to adjuat gains but no biggy

Graupner style will be more aggressive. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) it would provide faster changes, thus be better in wind. Slowflyer style will be more constant, providing more lift.

I prefer Graupner style CF blades.

I have only used the plastic slowfly's til now but have a box full of CF to try, looks like I will try the tapered on my Discovery and the slowfly on my hex.

The RCTimer carbon core props seem good but I have seen their slowfly amd plastic type props explode. The dji props as well. They both worked good until they didnt work anymore lol.

Regular plastic soft props are good for stock F450/F550 style helis that are super light. Once you go with GoPro, gimbal, fpv gear, etc, then they are not fit anymore...

You need to adjust your gains when you change prop style. Probably why you had a more twitchy feeling with Graupners.

To use the rctimer props with dji motors do you just drill them out or use one of those prop reamers? Will a prop reamer work on CF? I ordered a set of the CF rctimer props and forgot the DJI motors are a special size.

Sorry can't help with the DJI motors, I purposely don't use them because of the special size.

I did have four or five good flights with the BirdDog tapered props yesterday though, very nice, very responsive, pretty quiet and quite well balanced out of the pack, a bit more expensive than they should be though I think.

Been running Graupners and very satisfied with them. Got some RC Timers 9x5 cf today and will mount and try them shortly. Will let you know the outcome.

Finally tried the RCtimers and they did good, but the Graupners are better IMO.

But the Groupners are four times the price and not availability that readily.
