Default Toroid

How important is the toroid on the ESC's power wires? I went out on a limb and removed mine to get a cleaner canopy installation... seems to fly okay so far.

I'm assuming HH had issues/ glitches or maybe brown outs during testing. Let us know how it works out

Please report back after a couple hundred flights. I want to take mine off but still concerned why its on to start of with. Maybe a lawyer said something lol
Maybe if you do some big air or around electrical wires or building/trees it had issues.
For now its just needed weight for my heavy tail hehe

Out of curiosity, was this the grey ring that was wrapped around the esc power wires? If so, mine completely cracked off when changing the frame after a crash. I had no idea what it was but it was hard and brittle. Since that day, I have noticed a lot of noise coming from my tail motor when it spools up. I am wondering if this could be a contributing factor. From what I read, it appears that the ring is supposed to be on the signal wires of the esc. It has me baffled as to why it was on the power wires on the side of the frame.

I contacted HH and was told that yes the toroid should be on the power wires and also explained my issue with the tail being extremely loud. I was told the tail rotor blade may need to be balanced. Kind of hard to believe since its a solid one piece rotor blade.

So would it be a fair assumption that the ferrite ring would be completely redundant when flying with a flat 100% throttle curve. Or is there more to it.

Any thoughts?

Even at 100% throttle, the ESC is still pulsing the power to the motor moving from winding to winding, its just doing it faster than it is at lower throttle settings.....

Right, that's exactly what I was unsure about. Thank you for confirming Dacaur.

Ps. I know its been a while but how's your arm doing, has it fully recovered?

I'm not at a couple of hundred flights yet (maybe 50), but still no issues with the toroid removed.
