Default fb blades on 4 rotor head ?

I`ve got a trex 500 fbl, a 4 blade rotor head & a heli artist ec-135 fuselage. Horizon hobby has 430mm blades for their blade 500 3d heli. I`m thinking i can use these blades (flybarred) on this chassis with the align 4 blade head because i`ll be turning the head speed down. I`ve heard the only difference between fb & fbl blades is a weighted leading edge on fbl blades? I`ve also heard they`re only weighted for autos? They`re only $14.99 a pair is why i ask, plus they`re black.

Thanks,
conk

I doubt you would any difference between FB and FBL blades on a scale heli. Better still see whether you could fit some longer Spin blades and really dial the speed down - they would be $15 a pair though

You should be fine... just make sure you balance them as a set of two then put them on the head as a pair....

I balanced my with lead adhesive tape to make them same weight all four, then you can use acrylic clear paint and spray under the blade to balance them as sets.

Either way it works... on my scale blades I made them all the same weight... but I have used them also by balancing as pair... both ways it will work as long as they're balanced as pairs.

No need to waste your time trying to balance four blades just mark the blades so that you always installed the matched pair opposite of each other.
