if you are looking for it in Germany than go to HD-Helicopters directly http://www.hd-helicopters.com/ersatz...stigungsplatte

in the US - at SuperstisionHobbies they have it here http://superstitionhobbies.com/colle...tery-mnt-plate

That md tray idea is cool but with all the batteries I have it would be a couple hundred in battery trays alone .... unless you unstrap the solo one everytime which kinda defeats the purpose. If you had a bunch that would be a sweet setup . They are just pricey.

Yep I hear you, but the way you have to force velcro thru the slots to hold the tray in place is a pain, much faster, easier to strap a battery to a tray and click in place. I wish HD would make a tray to solve this.

Plus the straps only last so long before you need to replace them .

Here's a somewhat cheaper modification which worked well for me all year.

1. Drill a hole (2mm in my case) just before the inner tray blocks on each side of the frame.
2. Cut and bend a welding rod long enough to pass through both holes and to keep both inner tray blocks in place.

I played around with different shapes for the rod and ended up with a slightly different solution than what the picture shows but the idea is still the same.

Neat! I was planning on trying to make a latch over the current blocks, but that wins for simplicity.

So here's the pin shape I ended up with.
Reason to move away from the original design was that I was a bit paranoid about the pin to come out in air so I added the angled piece which goes between chassis and batterie once the pin is in. Probably sounds more complicated than it is

The second picture shows the pin installed.

I spent a little time with the micro mill this weekend and wanted to share the results of my battery tray mod. Mod consists of the rails made from aluminum angle (1.5mm thick), opening one mounting hole on each of the two latches, milling the face of the latches flat and drilling and threading a hole for a screw which serves as a locking bolt. Only mod to airframe requires one hole on each side to be drilled into the front frames to attach the latches. Also needs 4 1.5mm thick shims, 2 inside front gear mounts, and 2 outside rear gear mounts.

Easy to use, smooth and very positive lock with that satisfying "click" with no perceptible rattle. As I was making the mod I realized there are several ways of securing the tray to a set of simple rails including pins and custom made latch bars. If the need arises (hope never!) and I need to make a new set, I may explore these other options, but this worked out very nicely.

Here is my quick disconnect, modified the stock tray with the md quick release, had to shim the release to get the height right, but works great, no more feeding the strap thru the 2 slots. .
Please guys make a quick release from HD helicopters, it's such a great helicopter to have such a bad way to secure the battery

Oh I hope you can take orders. I would totally buy one if you are willing to make them for others.

Hi,

yes if there is a quick exchange it would be fine, but I use
soft rubber to protect sliding the lipo.
With well adjusted straps the exchange is also possible in 15 sec.

See the vid.
I will change the lipo very quick and will only use one tray, also
If they will develop a quick exchange.

Cheers
