Do i need anti spark lead on a 500 heli
Just been reading around and found 600 and 700 helis use an anti spark lead on esc, but 450 you dont need to worry, So what about 500?
Just looking at the specs on my yep 80 esc and below is one of the specs. So it should be ok then? Anti sparking circuit: reduces connection sparks (for HV ESC Cheers Gav

I dont worry about it on my 500's...and yours appears to have a suppressor so dont sweat it. I like the POP.. it lets me know for sure the batt is charged...
The anti spark seems to me to just reduce the damage to the connectors over time. Over time, the spark will do some malformation damage to the connectors. I had to change one pair of connectors in the past couple years.

I use EC5 connectors (a bit overkill alright) and don't even get any spark... But yeah, even using deans you shouldn't worry too much. 12s is another story

Thanks guys. I just finished soldering my EC5 on as well. I asked my LHS and he said strongly that ec3 which i have on my 450s wudnt cut. So after all that I probably wud have been right with ec3?
A friend of mine has a 500 pro and has ec3 with his but he has the anti spark plug so I guess its a matter of opinion? Just sux cause now I have to make sum EC5 charge leads

On a 500, the smallest I'd go is 4mm bullets from the batts to the ESC. The Scorpion motors come with 3mm on the motor to ESC wires. I had 3mm on my V400's from batt to ESC.
The 5mm's are fine. Spark doesnt bother me..its just the caps taking a huge gulp..you should hear the snap on my 12S 700....

It's really a matter of amp draw...each size is rated for a max draw current through them.
