Default Protos 700 motor cut out!

Hi everyone,

I need some help. Yesterday and today I started to experience some proglems with my new Protos 700. When I punch out from a hover, my motor cuts out. I then start to autorotate down and the motor comes back on just before landing. I have looked at my logs and see it looks like my gov is disengaging and then re-engaging. Take a look at my logs.

I am running a pyro 750-45 with a 21 tooth pinion. I thought maybe I was running the heli to hard to get my target headspeed of 1850. I switched pinion tonite to a 23t. That should bring the esc output down. It also looked like the heli was not holding the headspeed very well. I will do a jiggle test with the gov wire tomorrow moring to see if I can duplicate the concern on the bench.

It seems to be related to me punching out with alot of throttle out. It shows over a 100% when it disengages the gov. Maybe a wiring problem?

Can't really see what the lines on the log say but I have had this happen with old pack under heavy load. They will low voltage the esc and then kick back on. If it's a hobbywing and you packs are fairly new it may be the low voltage glitch in hobbywing and Alex recommends turning lv off on hobbywing 130 v4.

I just went through this or at least it sounds similar on a new E5 build. I am using a Castle Edge 120 and the Brain gov. I couldn't figure it out, I would pitch pump it, head speed would drop way off. I thought it was a LVC event but the head speed would slowly come back up, slow but faster than spool up. I had the Castle setup in heli mode instead of external gov mode. The communication between the Brain and the Castle was to slow for the gov to respond fast enough. Changed that and all is good.

What esc? Sounds like lvc. Personally I always disable it or at least lower to mininum, like 2.8v per cell

Can you post the original log file? Would be easier to look through it and make observations.

Based on what you've posted something is up with the ESC.

I will post the logs again tonite. I have been thinking the pinion gearing was too small. I was running a 21 on a pyro 750-450. Last night I changed the gear to a 23. I also thought maybe it was a wiring problem, since it only happened when I aggressively punched out full collective. I thought maybe the g's were pushing a wire or something. I moved the wiring around and checked routing also. This moring I did a blades off wiggle test while the heli was running on the bench. It did not cut out. Then I flew it in the backyard. I did a whole pack worth of punch outs at full collective. It didnt cut out. I will keep testing and post the logs tonite.

looks to me like esc cut offs. the black line is what the brain is asking for and the red line is what the esc is putting out. as you can see, the red line drops (esc power out), brain senses the rpm drop so tells the esc to raise throttle (black line raising all the way to 100), esc starts to feed power again until rpm comes back up, then requested throttle levels back out. definately esc cut offs. still kind of hard to see the log accurately though. it would help to post the log itself rather than a screenshot.

Can you post a screen capture of the settings on the esc?

It's checking power integrity. Make sure you add the cap included with the hw130.

thanks for your advise. the last log I attached that didn't cutout. That entire flight I hovered and punched out full collective over and over just to try and duplicate my concern.

+1... This just happened to me last night also with the HW130 but Align vs. Logs show it was spooling back up but had went to zero so slow start reset. I pulled hold anyway, didn't have enough room to save it but did get it down fairly good short of hitting a short taxi light and taking out a set of VTX and a canopy.
