Yeah, 3s 850 MAH 40C from Thunderpower. The entire 40C line is about to be released. They are waiting on a few other packs to be able to start shipping, they're also working on their price list, etc. Charlie Wang told me recently that they're expecting them to be fully released by the end of June at the very latest. The 250 pack is pretty small, fits the 250 perfectly as it was designed around it:

What's the point of having such a high C rating?

A 40C battery at 850mAh is capable of delivering a 34A of current. The stock T-250 ESC is rated at 15A, which is sufficient since the motor draws only about 11.5 Amps (100% throttle at 11 degrees pitch). The flight time for this battery would be unchanged from the lower C rated batteries, as the capacity of both batteries is 850mAh. Therefore, this pack seems like overkill to me. It's weird that they'd design a 40C battery pack around an 18C helicopter. Maybe this pack stays a bit cooler, but I really don't have a problem with heat when using my stock Align batteries.

By the way, even with my ESC set to provide high voltage cutoff, I put well over 850mA back into my stock Align battery after a complete flight. Thus, those little suckers are really more like 1100mAh.

I wouldn't do that. You are only supposed to discharge a battery 80% so for 850 mah that would be 680 MAX!! To keep a long life. I would not think you batteries would last very long if you treat them like that.

I guess what I'm saying is that the actual capacity is much greater than the advertised 850mAh. Agreed, as far as only discharging 80%.

It's all about the hard moves, pitch pumps, fast direction changes, the stuff that bogs the motor (or at least trys to).

My gaui 200 is running 25c 850mAh batt's and my esc is rated at 18A. I have logged as high as 21 amp spikes on my eagle tree, and that is without going nuts like Bert or other more advanced pilots can pull. That extra 'headroom' in the batt just gives you a much more direct and 'full flavored' feel with the power system.
