Default Please help my Walkera V200D01...

Good day guys. I have a Walkera V200D01 FP heli with Devo 7,which i bought a year ago while we were deployed in Afghanistan. I really like the simple design of this heli but unfortunately some of the parts are easy to break. The rudder servo gave up and i decide to replace it with a better servo(ALIGN DS425m). As a noob i was hoping this should work. My problem is the servo doesn't reset back to neutral position everytime i throttle it. The servo respond to gyro or moves automatically when there is no throttle input. Did i need to configure something since it's a different part brand for my rudder servo. Please enlighten a noob like me. Thanks in advance.

I suspect your problem may be that there are different specs for tail servos, with different control frequencies, different travel ranges, etc. Unless the Walkera heli allows you to change its settings to be compatible with the Align servo it may not be possible to make this work.

I can't say for sure I'm afraid as I dont know that Walkera heli, but my guess would be that its a fixed design that would need an equivalent servo to work.

When you swap a servo for a different type on a heli like the 250 you have to go through a bunch of setup steps on the flybarless controller to configure the servo. The Walkera models are generally designed to be plug & play without needing that complex setup, which unfortunately means you probably need a Walkera tail servo to make that work.

it could just be that you've not configured hold and rate correctly.

My helis behave the same at the beginning of a flight, because I fly in headlock the tail servo holds its last correction from the previous flight, I have a switch assigned to the tail which toggles rate/hold, I switch back to rate which centres the servo and again to switch back to headlock.

the switch is set with 2 rudder gyro values, 1 below 50% and the other above 50%, nothing special.

The alternative as stated above could mean the ds425 has a different centre pulse to that of your original servo.

keep us posted.
