Usually that means the gyro is reversed.

In my experience with the few helis I've had, the tail blades, when viewed from the right side of the heli, always spun in a count clockwise direction. When following the build process in the Trex 250 manual it would also appear that the tail blades would spin in a counter clockwise manner. But after my post I went and flipped the belt and blades and the heli seems fine now. Just have to do some fine tunning of the gyro delay and gains on my Futaba. I turned everything in my swash menu down to 40% untill I get the hang of this smaller heli. At first it was set to 65% and that was WAY too touchy. 40-45 seems good for now. But how do I slow down the tail? It piero's super fast. Can I just raise the "limit" on the gyro? Or is there a setting to adjust in my Tx? Thanks guys

NO, on the Trex 250 it's the same as most - the tail comes up in the front and down in the back. When you view this from the right side, it appears counter-clockwise. If you have it going the wrong way you won't get the same tail authority - I'm not sure why, it just doesn't work right that way. Like I said, probably you have your gyro reversed.

To reduce the piro rate, once you have your limit and gain and everything set up right, if the piro is too fast, you can reduce the rudder travel. You can do this in your dual rate settings, or in your travel adjust. On mine, the piro rate isn't fast enough, and I increased the rate to 125% - it still isn't as fast as some.

If you need to go look at my videos, they do show the correct orientation of everything, and how to set up the gyro properly.

Couldn't pass it up. A quick pic of a new canopy for the 250. Alf_flash does good work.

Cheers

One of the nicest looking 250's I've seen. So how do I get a canopy like that
Very nice Bob.

You will like the visibility of your canopy. I love mine, it is very obvious which orientation the heli is in.

yeah, visibility is definitely key. Whilst waiting for the Greenline I switched back to the Align lightening bolt and had an OMFG experience; just guessed right and got it back, admittedly it was overcast day but re-enforced the notion that the Canmods can pay for themselves.

Cheers mate.

Make sure you cut off the unnecessary portion of the elevator servo arm - it can run into the tail drive.

It is shown very clearly in the Finless video. The front servos rub on the canopy too.

Yeah I love it. Doesn't fly as good as the 500, but it's a lot of fun, convenient to fit in the car, and crashes don't cost much.

Although directed at brentonasmith, I can answer your question zeeflyboy.

They are Zero-G Alu skids: http://www.helihobby.com/html/trex_250.html scroll down about 1/4 page.

IMO I found the total lack of flex compared to the plastic ones a bit of a concern, it meant that any hard landing transferred the shock directly to the frame, the skids absorb nothing. Plus I would rather they were skewed like the stock, I personally prefer the skewed skid look.

That being said, they are beautifully crafted & kudos to the manufacturer for making them, they're just not for me.

How has your experience been with them Brenton?
