[email protected] - stock white canopy and a few tins of spray paint I'm afraid - did it to match the 500.

Hopefully an official one will be just around the corner.

JR ds290g tail servo
CSM SL420e gyro
Spektrum AR6100 rx

just an idea.
i had added heat shrink to all wires . and the ds420 was replaced with the futaba s9257 but i had to shorten the linkage 1/4 inch and rethread it.

the only thing that differd from this 250 to the 450 / 600 was the way the cyclic servo aile/pit arms were set. on the 250 they were set parallel to the landing skids for it to work best because the servos are set at an angle
is it ok to have them like this?

no. do not do that...put them on the outside of the control arm, otherwise there may be rubbing, and you dont want that. ill post pics on how to route them well.

Default New T250

Thanks to Jasmine, Finless, and Heim Joint for the excellent videos.
Man, I'm really happy with this build. Didn't have any problem stripping screws; just made sure the tool was well seated before applying pressure. I decided to use Heim Joint's tail mods (weight and spacers) since I had good luck with his weights on my Gaui 200. I completely deconstructed the tail components since it was catchy. Found a lot of excess CA on some screws. Heim Joints tail bearing mods made the tail feel custom engineered. I used the logitech 2100 and a JR290 for the tail. I also used a carbon tail rod modified from a Trex 450 carbon rod (old style 2mm solid carbon). I really focused on the tail since this seems to be the biggest complaint for many helis including the Trex 250.
My only other mod was to strengthen the canopy grommet areas since mine were really soft and experience shows me that those areas damage easily just putting the canopy on and off. I used .75 oz kevlar cloth saturated with medium CA. Even tissue paper would work but I had the kevlar from another project
I've just hovered her in the garage since is blowing 20mph today. No tail drift or wag so far and I haven't even dialed in gyro gain or my first setting was lucky (Gear channel +40). Blade tracking dead on. Lucky build.

What size and where can I order some of that black protective stuff for the servo wires? I don't even know what its called. I could use heat shrink, but your covering looks 'cooler' to me. I dorked mine in once and it cut one of my servo wires along the frame, so I'm thinking protecting them is a good idea.

Thanks

Ricky

ricky,
The wire covering is called "braided sleeving". I got mine from Wirecare https://www.wirecare.com/index.asp?. They have heat shrink and sleeving in lots of sizes and colors. I just use the general purpose flexo pet sleeving in 1/8" for a single servo wire. You usually finish the ends off with heat shrink.
I've bundled several wires in one sleeve before, but that's a PIA if you have to repair. I think the sleeving looks better and it definitely protects against chafing so other than a very small weight penalty and extra build time its all good.

Readyheli also carries it:

http://www.readyheli.com/BLACK_Servo...h-8%20wire.htm

That's the 1/8" size, they also carry 1/4" and I believe 1/2" too.
