I think that's one of the only posts I've ever made like that. Your post struck me as arrogant and ignorant, and that's why I reacted that way. I just want people to be safe, and your post seemed like an attempt to rationalize and defend a bunch of unsafe behavior.

Here's what really bugged me BTW...

I have even been hit with a 250, a 450, A Nitro Edge 540(Balsa wood), a Pitts Biplane ( EPP Foam) and had my fare share of E.R. visits because of my impulsiveness or my dads bad choice in flying weather/ lack of experience. But i have had 3 years of simulator practice and am fairly confident in my ability to fly these heli's.

I wasn't planning on flying with the kids around but my baby sister and her friends were watching me test it on my dining room table and begged and begged me to fly it, and how can you refuse their innocent (unlikley) little puppy dog eyes. So i gathered them all up on the steps and told them not to go near the helicopter when it starts, and if by some chance it comes towards them to run inside or under the stairs. I showed them some of my dads old videos ( of us being foolish and getting hurt) and my scars from my incidents and told them, this is not a toy it is a machine and it does not care about your feelings and if for some reason i can't control it, you could get hurt. They all agreed to my terms that i would allow them to watch and they all did exactly as i told them. (Hence the running and screaming). I do occasionally chase my sister with my Blade 120 and MSR, which she loves, respects, and understands .. the dog... not so much. Its different with the little 4 ch birds though because they will put little more than a thick scratch on the skin, and i never fly near her chest or head.

However close it might seem in the video it would have still had enough time to react if any of their safety was in question.. whether it meant pushing the stick hard left and flying my heli into the ground, or throttling down with full negative, or kicking the dam thing out of the air... destroying my helicopter would mean nothing to me vs the saftey of those kids. Furthermore, it would be cheaper to replace a couple hundred dollars in parts vs a $1000 dollar medical bill with no insurance.

Regardless i have respect for these "Machines" and understand the consequences if i were to hurt one of the young ones and would take full responsibility including transportation to the hospital and the medical bills.

Everything went as planned and everyone had fun, so i have no regrets. We made an excellent video and the kids were so hyped on being apart of my first flight. Now I'll give you one of the lighter videos of one of my incidents when i was nearly 14, when my dad attacked me with a pitts biplane made of Styrofoam. the other videos of incidents were flagged in appropriate on you tube and removed (Probably because of the violence, cursing and blood) anyway i wasn't seriously hurt in this one, so enjoy this for a good laugh

http://youtu.be/ZiSYGeWLPxI
I have to say i was very inexperienced back then sorry i nailed ya with the biplane but that was a fun summer and we had allot of fun..

My 250 DFC with Microbeast, Stock Align servos, CC 25 ESC. I soldered the ESC directly to the stock motor and shortened the leads from the tail servo and ESC to the upside down Microbeast. After routing, the other servo leads didn't need to be shortened. I'm going to wire the satellite directly to a servo plug to clean it up a little more.

Pay no attention to the sleeping dog.

This is funny. We see pics of 250s next to 550s and 600s, but this pic makes the 250 look HUGE! I have an McpX v2 and want to eventually own a 250. Just funny how small the McpX really is.

Talking My latest heli: T-Rex 250

Here's my latest addition to my heli family!

It was fun putting it together...and yes it was hard fiddling with those small screws .

Thanks to Jasmine2501, Kdill2160 and Millstone for sharing your setups and to everyone else for their questions...it was nice having the answers to the common problems answered.

So far I only have a test hover logged (bad weather) but it feels pretty stable and should be a great flyer. Now I'm wondering if I'll ever fly my mCPX again.

That looks like a scary place to fly. No AMA used at that place.

This is my first flight in well over a month (normally once or twice a week) and a buddy got it on his phone. Not much here just knocking the rust off.

Rust? Gawd my thumbs were shaking just watching and was waiting to hear the thwack of the 250 hitting a chunk of steel...lol. Great video and super job flying!!!!!

Tuff build, makes my 500 look easy to set up. The precision to get this model right is extreme. These are the specs.

AR7200BX
Stock Align 15 AMP ESC
Castle CCBEC10 running 6.1 volts
Stock Align cyclic servos
MKS DS95i tail servo
Gen's Ace 850 30C packs

Weight? - she is a fatty at 375 grams AUW. Thinking of putting her on a diet soon.

I spent a few weeks getting the tail to work without wag. I was convinced it was a setting on the AR7200BX. Turns out one tail grip had an insanely tiny amount of bind (one would fall with gravity and the other would not). Once I sorted that out the tail was locked even with the stock align tail servo. I had previously ordered the MKS DS95i so I put that on. Wow - this may now be the best tail in my fleet. Very locked, very precise.

- Sean
