Default DX7 Programming

Does anyone have any tips on how to program a Spektrum DX7 radio to fly airplanes...I have no idea where to start...

I currently fly a 450-size heli and I'm trying to get into planes too. (God help me and my wallet!) Right now I have a 3 channel Multiplex EasyStar plane, but I'm looking to move into a 4 channel plane, like a trainer, and I'd like to use my DX7.

Thanks in advance.

If you can setup a helicopter a plane will be ridiculously easy.

Reverse the servos as needed, and set endpoints appropriately and done. That's about all there is to it.

I could be a little late on this but it really depends if you are running one servo for your ailerons or two. If you are doing one then there really isnt anything special you have to do.
If you are running two aileron servos (one per aileron) then you will need to setup mixing.

Not sure if its right but I usually put the second servo on the flap channel. Then really the only other thing you have to do is setup prog.mix1 to be aile -> flap and depending on the servo reversing the rate will either be 100 or -100 on both.
Also you can setup the ailerons as flaps that way by using prog.mix2 as flap -> aile at 100. Then setup your flap sys.

Took a little bit of trial and error but it wasnt too bad.

And of course set the model to acro.

if running two servos for ailerons setup as a flaperon. if running two servos for the aileron and two servos for the elevator then dont setup as a flaperon and use mixes.
