Also, if you're not including the replacement bearings, could you tell me where to get a set of good ones?..
I'm sending you a PM now.

Thanks.

keep clicking on quick reply and type something. It doesn't matter in which forum you post.

Wow.
I just upgraded one of my 250's with Heim Joint's spacers and Chinese weights. Easy to do with quality parts and instructions in package (and on the internet.) These are good kits. Great maybe. I would bet the manufacturer(s) wish they had done their homework as well as Robin. Good on you, Robin!
I was kind of ashamed of my tail slop. Couldn't get it adjusted out. Now I can walk tall. Maybe crash less...

Thanks Robin/Heim Joint.

wow.. just got these on today.. WHAT A DIFFERENCE.. i had just about given up on the tail.. JR 3500g, all sorts of blades. with the bearings and chinese weights. i have the tx gain on a jr9503 up to 41% today in HH (a first) and flew in 10 mph winds with no wag in hover, fff, fbf, piros etc.

Default Very Happy With Spacer Upgrade and Chinese Weights

My 250SE tail problem seemed to be different from what the majority of people are experiencing. Basically, the tail held relatively well (although I'm only flying sport style), but any large rudder input would result in what seemed to be a loss of power. Kick the tail around and I would lose lots of altitude. Strange.

My gut feeling was that my Align DS420 was the culprit and loading down the power system, so I picked up a Hyperion DS09GMD as a replacement. However after watching Heim Joint's videos I realized that the slop in my tail grip bearings was more likely the cause. I had a ton of slop in my grips.

I rebuilt the entire tail system and made sure everything was exceptionally smooth and free of any binding..."like butter". I then installed HJ's preload spacer set along with his Chinese weights. I also went ahead and installed the Hyperion servo.

What a difference! Finally, I can fly my 250 without strange tail behavior. I'm thrilled and enjoying my 250 for the first time. I'm going to order another set of both spacer kit and weights as backups just in case Heim Joint ever decides to cease production.

Final Note: If I had more time, I would have kept the DS420 to see if it played any part in my tail problem, but I now suspect it was fine all along. I may temporarily reinstall it at a later time to verify its condition, but the Hyperion is so nice I'm keeping it as my permanent tail servo.

-John

Default one of these things ain't like the other....

I scored myself a 250 late last year.. the a$$ end is different than the one Hiem Joint is working on in the Vids. The blade grips have a different shape and only ONE bearing.. SUPER DUPER SLOPPY too...... Aaaand.... the .5mm blade grip retaining bolts came "prestripped" direct from the factory.. I had to be creative to dismantle the assemblies...

WTF??? (Why The Face)

Anyone... Anyone??

Those are the weighted tail blade grips. My preload spacer set + my 4 high quality bearings will fit those grips and totaly eliminate your blade bearing slop. I supply torx drive screws in the kit for the blade grip mounting screw so you wont be stripping them out. I also have Chinese weights that are tuned for the weighted grips. (Those bumps on the blade grips dont do enough for any significant reduction in pushrod force).

This is a video of my testing of the weighted grips

I will PM you with purchase info
