Nice flying guys, I'm aiming to be at least half as good with a "bit" more practice now I FINALLY have Phoenix running on my iMac.

There was this 'myth' I had came across here in NZ that there was this heli pilot with no previous flight experience that had done nothing but train on hard core 3D on a sim for months.
After wards, this same guy came along and won the national 3D champs or something, but because he had only done 3D, he could not even do a basic circuit with his heli ........ well, I thought it was an urban myth or something until I met someone at my LHS this week who actually met the guy!!
Apparently he has now moved on and can actually do the basic flight stuff now as well .... but I guess it goes to show just how helpful and realistic these sim's can be!!

Ok i have been flying mode 1 for two and a half years, and 5 months ago made a decision to change to mode 2. So here is my progression after 5 months. But WOW, what a task. Alot of hard work required to forget one mode and then re-learn another. Alot more work than i expected. But i think it is comming along nicely.

Flying a logo 500.

to get smoother recording

you can try using the games recorder
then when you play your recording back in the simulator program
then enable your recorder program to record the recorded while you watch.

hope you understand what i mean.

Very nice Brian.

I think I didn't share this here in this video thread yet.

Looks quite real no? Just using my video camcorder..

What is SO sad.. is that this sim video was from almost 10 months.. now in real life, and after 500+ flights since the video, I still can't fly like that for real. I've made some progress.. but geeze is it ever going slow for me.

bring it up high, even if you do it once in real life, that's enough motivation to keep going

Early attempts at piro funnels. Love to have the brass cahoneys to try this for real. I've come close to going for it then I bail out when I get to backwards-inverted flight.

Hey don't let anyone deter you. Keep flying brother! Everyone learns at different levels and different ways. If you don't want to learn nose in hover like I did, well I still don't know it. But I can do chaos, loops, rolls, inverted hover, aileron tic tocs, tic tocs, and it's all fun, I'll learn nose in hover some other time! right now, I'm just having tooo much fun. Btw piro flip is preety hard, but give me 5 hours in the sim, and I'll show you piro flips. Always remember the first rule, there are no rules!! Keep flying brother, you can do it!!

Default Auto on Phoenix with a T-rex 250

This is me practicing autos on the t-rex 250. It's harder than the big birds. But I think I finally got it. I am still trying out inverted auto, which i find is very difficult. I need to work on my Proper Collective Management.

This one here is the new scheme i modded with the hk250gt. I'm still learning how to fly. lol. I've spent most of my time trying to learn about the building process of a heli. Now it's been a month of 1/2 hour a day, practicing learning how to fly.
