Your canopies are a big hit Kettle. I printed one off at the shop today and installed it. I used a little bit of packing tap on the backs for holes, and in the nose where the crease is to beef it up a bit.

We crash alot so I figure it might make it survive a bit better. Boss is gonna let us "laminate" a couple, then they'll be all shiny and look factory.

All the guys that saw them said they were gonna log on and print them out.

My only minor issue is that it sort of looks like it's smiling, but it's still super cool thanks again man!

Smiling?!?! Man, that's a sneer of pure evil!

Seriously, I'm glad they're such a hit. I've got something more official in the works for these, but I don't want to say anything about it until it's a done deal. I will say this though...download the files while you can, because I may be taking them down soon.

What a great idea and simple design, perfectly proportioned for this tiny bird -- and free! We're having all kinds fun coming up with different designs for it. Thanks!

Glad to hear you're having fun with it! I'd love to see some of the designs you came up with if you feel like posting photos.

Good Idea Kettle, get a few bucks for your trouble.

The more I look at it, the more I agree, it's an evil Sneer....

I saved mine and the blank one right away. I figured this was a great idea and somebody would start charging for them. A guy like me, who's computer illiterate would pay.... I even talked about the shop making some, laminating them and selling them for a few bucks. But, neither of us are that computer savy that we could do it cost effectively, and well, it is a "piece" of paper after all....

Good Luck with your endevor sir!

So you were contemplating selling someone else's design?

I don't know, but if it were ME, I'd be pissed at you for doing so. Design your own and sell them; don't sell someone else's work.

Default conopy

where did every one go, kettlrtrigger? charlieS etc. sorry but this has been my favorite thread since i've been a freak and kettletrigger started it! I had a couple ideas today; I cut out the wind shield and laminated; but just before I laminated iquickly sharpied the back with a brown sharpie only meaning to darken the original a bit but got an added bonus, reversable mcx canopy! here are some photos, i hope u guys like them.

I like the Clear window. I'll have to try that when I laminate my next body. Cut out the window first.

Thanks for the great idea Shrey!

charlieS, the evil eye is really sharp, I'm going to make one today w/ the clear windshield, but it may look better like yours because of the design. try to post pic later. mark

what is the point of these canopies? with all due respect, i just find them to be very ugly. it makes them look super cheap. i know people will hate on me, but i am just curious why anyone would do a mod that makes it look worse.

It is not perminant, cheap, and it is a way to customize the look of the mcx.

LOL, they are "just different". In a sea of yellow canopy MCX's anything different is nice.....

They are "free" and give you 10 minutes or so of something to do with your MCX....

"jerk".... LOL. Just kidding dude, don't take it personal.
