Hi Chris,

Do you have any pictures of how you shoe horned 20 cells into the Knight?

Sounds like a lot of fun!

Just following up to this earlier question. On Saturday the ESC died in flight & the 600e dropped about 15/20 feet and broke the skids in half, along with some other parts. The good news is the battery packs and the cantilever support were fine. This is not he way I like to test things.

Ouch! Definitely a "good news, bad news" story. Which ESC were you using? Any idea what happened?

gww528 - Sorry about your crash but it is good to get some empirical data to support the theory (pun intended!). Thanks for sharing.

Castle 85HV, no idea why it died. Will send it in for repair & maybe they will know. It communicates with the Castle Link, it just will not talk to the MOTOR!

Empirical... ya, that's the word for it. In fact you would have really appreciate it because it was a real good test of the two batteries butted against each other. It so happened that I realize the motor stopped as I was going into the wind. Stopped it, had it hovering but did not bring it down fast enough with the wind keeping it up, so it came down by itself... straight down. Landed nice & flat & HARD. A very good test.

On that particular day, flying two 600e's the motor smoked on one and the ESC died on the other. Now when it came to the auto's... lets put it this way I am 1 for 2. :o maybe 1.5 to 2 as I only lost the skids and bang everything else out into shape.

So how are the Knight's flying? Did you guys go with the 8S or 6S motors for the 10S2P setup? Does any other battery configuration work well on this heli?

Knight's flying great. I used the 8s motor with A123 10s2p setup. That setup was converted to A123 15s1p using a Scorpion 4035Scorpion HK-4035-500. More power, less weight.

I haven't been flying mine on A123 recently. The 10S2P setup is ok, but the weight makes itself felt during aggressive moves. I got a good price on some 8S 5000 Hyperion lipos, so that's what I'm using right now.
