Default T-REX 250SE Super Combo

My little guy weighs in at 339 grams. Using the Outrage 860mah pack, carbon fiber blades and the rest is stock.

I am curious to know the procedure you guys are using for shortening your servo wires? Are you just cutting off the extra and soldering in the middle of the wire and then using heat shrink or are you taking the receiver apart and resoldering there? I want to shorten my wires but want it to look good after. Help is appreciated.

I bought a crimp tool and a pack of spare male and females plugs. Cut to length and refit with a new plug. I personally think it's looks better than cutting the leads and then resoldering.

In fairness both solutions work.

Thanks Phill

I am wanting to do the same, need to get the connector kit and crimpers. I would like to reduce my 250's weight but also like to rid my heli of the long wires I do not need.

250SE is 341 grams with 850ma Hyperion battery and JR DS290G tail servo and carbon blades. Everything else stock.
I fly this for a while and it makes the 450 and even the B400 seem easy to fly.

I noticed the same, Fly the 250 for several paks and then the 450 seems tame.

I don't think shortening a few wires is going to help here! Box stock late model 250 super combo. An extreme 469 grams (16.5 ounces) with Align MD500 fuselage and 1000 mAh 3S. I normally fly about 6 minutes for safety but indoors I've hovered and flown gently up to 9 or 10 minutes a few times. I'm amazed that it flies as well as it does given the weight, see this thread. To help with the CG I made a forward extension of the floor from ply which replaces the front mechanics mount and allows the battery to sit well forward in the canopy (see pic) If anyone really wanted I could provide a drawing of this, see CAD model (I'm a Design Engineer!).
