Yes, 3s.
I don't know the headspeed, went to test just now and the 9V batt in the meter is dead. Sorry.
It's the 2208 Scorpion motor w/ a kv of 3600, I don't remember which pinion I used...I think it was one from the Garbage 200

Default copterX 250 net weight

I just received my unassembled version in the mail this morning, and am slowly
assembling it (by putting loctite everywhere).

Without any electronics, my copterX weighs in at 151g (quite a bit heavier
than the advertised 138g).

The quality of the kit is so-so, the tail has very little slop as far as I can tell, but
unfortunately one of the tail blade grip is slightly defective (I think the hole
for the bearing is drilled at an angle, so the bladegrip isn't parallel to the
other blade, we'll see if it'll cause excessive tail vibration.

The stock pinion seems to be for a 2.5mm shaft as it has lots of play
on my tonic-X (zpower) 2.3mm shaft, but nothing a little epoxy/CA won
t fix :-)

^Mine was a CopterX, terribale quality, it's 3/4 align now. Only thing left CrapterX is the Frame, a 1/2 the tail and 1/2 the head.

you ever add up all those align parts, probably cheaper to buy the whole trex then upgrade the copterx

Yep, I have, it's almost twice the price. And I also just found out I have to spend $40 to get a Align tail now, cause the control arm on it snapped and you have to buy the whole Align tail because CrapterX did some dumb design that isn't compatibale with Align (probably the .1% in there 99.9% claim)

This is my other 250, the build is almost in completion. So far her AUFW 353grams(3S 800mah 20C lipo included). This is a very very cheap setup. Designed HS @ 100 thottle just over 5600-5100. I am still in the process of trying to cut down her weight. My aim for this bird is AUFW 300 grams(Lipo 3S 800mah 20C included). The best I think i could do is 315-320 grams.

I also have another 250 but that weighs 383grams. [email protected] 100 throttle 4500-4400. I am also planning for another 250 5000-5100 HS. Weight is so hard to lose on these little birds.

Just finished building my copterX 250.

AUW 277.6 gr

Setup: tonic-x 4850kV motor (26 gr), 15T pinion
castle creation phoenix-10 ESC, heli fixed throttle mode, firmware a few months old.
turnigy nanotech 850mAH, 2S (49gr)
decased logictech 2100T gyro, wires shortened (7gr)
align ds-420 tail servo, wire shortened
hextronics hxt-500 cyclic servos, two with wires shortened (6.8gr, 6.2gr, 6.2gr)
spektrum ar6100 (v1.2), this is about 1 gr lighter than my 6100E, but it isn't v1.6 with
the quick reconnect firmware.

Servos seem too weak for the job, but we'll see how it goes when I maiden it.
ESC gets hot side of warm from less than a minute of spinning, so may overheat in actual flight.
Headspeed seem ridiculously fast, I nevered spun it up fully since the tailcase kept slipping.

Aprox. 315g with my 65g Voltz packs I can only get aprox since my scale is analog but I guess that's a pretty low weight.

You have a super kool setup. Will you be running it at 100% throttle? I am interested to know the flight time you would get with that lipo. The current one I have is on the 5500 HS no gov( I only get 3 mins flight time). I've put some cheap lighter paddles, the weight is just under a gram for each ( it really makes the bird boogie.). I'm using the turnigy 30A ESC, and it only runs warm, not hot like my 450. The next one(250) I am building, will be around the 6100+ HS similar to your AUFW. I'll be using the E-sky 8g digital servos($4 each). They work really well on my other 250. I use them on the cyclics and the tail. The tail is solid! Do you have any pics of the bird? Very nice setup.

thanks, I was shooting for a low maintenance, somewhat crash resistant
heli, hence the low weight build. It now flies at 253g without canopy and 26X with
a bladeCP canopy.

My headspeed at 100% throttle 0 pitch is 4200rpm. But I've been flying at 70% at idleup
so I'm probably flying below 3500rpm. It has been a troublesome heli with parts flying
off at spinup and during flight until I found that the tail blades needed balancing. After
that it was much better. I crashed on my maiden because my aileron servo had a
internal short.

It has been my worst heli, but is rapidly improving as I get the problems sorted.

I officially weigh in at 342 grams

Every aluminum upgrade I could find.
Sparten Quark/JRds290G
Align cyclic servos, I shortened the wires on all of these.
Scorpion Motor
Spectrum 6110 Receiver mounted at the rear inside the frames
Align Blades/Carbon
Canomod Canopy
KBB tail blades
Fusono Tail fins.
Stock Align ESC mounted under motor
Voltz 850 MAH 35C battery/s

Balance comes out a little nose heavy but not much. Kind of wishing I went with a JR 3500 tail servo but I think the 290G will be fine, at least for now.

sweet! i didnt realize someone else ran theirs on 2S .. mine is flying great at a svelt 307.4g AUW -- my timer is set for 4 minutes, 3 1/2 minutes is better for alot of aero.
my setup:
-copterx250:
-align skids,boom, tailhouse, swash,shafts,washout base,plastic links,gears,bearings, bottom plate
-MH control arm/slider (nothing special the stocker was fine)
-align 205 carbons
-fusuno canopy
-850 2S hyperion
-tonicx 4850/15T @100%
-gaui18 esc
-exi D213 metal gear servos (heavy and required modding the mount ears and removing frame side to mount but the price and reliability was right haha)
-telebee gyro/ inolab201 analog servo (not so great but good enough for me)
