Default First flight -- What is everyone talking about??

Finally finished putting together my 250. My setup is:

Updated tail model
Stock motor (although I have a scorpion 3600 that will go in soon)
Stock ESC
HS 5065's on swash
Hyperion DS09 GMD on tail
GY401
Gaui 800mah lipo (20c?)

Hovered it in the living room with stock tapered blades just to check tracking. Based on so many of the reports I have heard, I expected to stop as soon as I verified that my pitch was in good shape (which it was), but I was blown away by how stable it was. I had my gain set to 68 on my dx7, and the tail held still the entire time. It is a little bit squirrely with a normal throttle curve (75 at mid stick, then 85, then 100), but with a flat 85 curve the thing just stays in place. I should also add that I forgot to add ANY expo, and it really doesnt even feel like it needs it. Overall, coming from a 600n and a couple 450's, I am thoroughly impressed with this thing.

When you take the time to put it together right, it is an AMAZING helicopter. Definintely my new favorite.

Yea I was amazed and how smooth and stable it was too, this is my first kit and REAL heli, coming from ATF kits (Axe Cp, Blade CP), it flys amazingly well for a small heli. I run weights on my flybar for now cause its always windy here.
Like you said, if it set up right it could be really docile or agile, however you prefer. It rocks!

Well I just took it outside, and, quite frankly, you can have it set up for both at the same time.

Ditto for me. I set mine up and never looked back. Stock everything out of a Super Combo box and it ran great!

I love this heli.

Default first flight

being a newbie somewhat i dont know any better but i think it comes from learning on bigger helis.the 250 is fast and you have to keep ahead of it but it has progressed my learning curve very quickly.i got a 450 first and then the 250 so i could fly indoors to learn orientation.after flying the 250 quite a bit the 450 seemed much easier to do the same things with.so i agree its a great heli for a newbie and much less frustrating than something like cp.i had one and almost gave up until someone let me try their 450 then i was hooked!

Default Love my 250

I absolutely love the 250! ROCK SOLID!

The 250 loves headspeed so if your out in the wind, crank it up! I run 100% in Idle 2 with full throws and a touch of expo (15). Currently using the new Thunder Power Pro Power 850mah 30C batteries and it changed everything! Outperforms my outrage 25C 860mah hands down. At the end of 8 minutes of mild 3D and sport flying the battery is slightly warm.
