Default Rehash Align DX7 Settings

I've seen the thread everyone refers to on the align RCE600 gyro and the DX7 and it just doesn't work right.

Here is what I set.

1. AUX2 ATV is set for 70% to -100%. This means, in normal mode my governor will be at my desired 70% value.

2. Set MIX1
AUX2 -> AUX2, flip to IDLE1 to get the ON enabled
Set Rate for 10%
SW: F-S12

3, THRO -> THRO, flip gear switch to ON,
SW: GEAR
Rate: 0%
10%

This is my throttle cut ala Bob.

4. Mix 3
AUX2->AUX2, set IDLE2 to ON
SW: F-S2
Rate: +10%

So, in normal mode my ATV sets my gov for 70%. When I switch to idle1, an extra 10% is added. When I switch to idle 2 an additional 10% is added. And I have my cut.

So is this OK? Is it OK to have the gov enabled at 70% in normal mode? THis is correct, right?

I had actually something similar the first time I set one of these up but I changed it. The problem is when you are out there spooling up, around 1/4 stick the governor is going to engage and your engine is going to leap up to whatever head speed.

Also, when you land, the governor is not going to slow down until you are already on the ground and forcing your stick into negative territory, around 1/4 stick again. I would run no governor in normal mode and just kick it on once you're off the ground and shut it off before landing, disable it in normal mode and use throttle curves.

I used 0-100% ATV and if I remember right, I mixed the first AUX2 at 87% and the 2nd at 10% (for a total of 97% in ST2)

Here I found my DX7, AUX2 travel is -100 to +100 (the governor can be set to a percentage on either side of zero remember.) This is what I had on my 600 for I think 1900 and 2000 headspeed, might have been 2000 and 2100. Stunt 1 and Stunt 2.

[PROG MIX1]
INH

[PROG MIX2]
AUX2 > AUX2
RATE 90%
0%

SW:F-S12
OFFSET: 0

[PROG MIX3]
AUX2 > AUX2
RATE 12%
0%

SW:F-S2
OFFSET: 0

edit: oh yeah, I just use trim for killing the engine.

You need to set Gear to INH in the system menu. Then you need to use the mix on Gear to Gear instead of Aux2 to Aux2. I dont know why this is but it is the case. Use your gyro on Aux2 instead.

Endpoints of Gear at 100 100

[PROG MIX1]
GEAR > GEAR
RATE 0%
0%

SW:F-NR
OFFSET: 0

This will be gov off in normal

[PROG MIX2]
GEAR > GEAR
RATE 90%
0%

SW:F-S12
OFFSET: 0

This will give about 1950 in stunt 1

[PROG MIX3]
GEAR > GEAR
RATE 10%
0%

SW:F-S2
OFFSET: 0

this will give around 2170 in stunt 2

As Gear was INH in system menu you can override the gov by flicking the gear switch. That way you can match your curves

I dont know why but I have had little success using Aux 2. I think it is because you cant set it to INH in the system menu.

My AUX2 is set to INH in the system menu and GEAR is set to GYRO.

Of course since I moved to the 9303, I've had to reverse all this stuff, but on my DX7, AUX2 is indeed set to INH.

I think we've accomplished the exact same thing just on different channels.

The AUX2 switch will cut your governor, same as GEAR. Hadden, remember to put in backup V-curves in your ST throttle curves!

To get the gyro working on gear, you set the ATV to -50% for NOR and +50% for HH and play around from there.

OK...

I set my V throttle curves. I think I will leave gov off in normal mode and try it that way. I don't like the idea of the gov kicking in in normal mode. I just want to hover it for breakin right now.

Yeah, AUX can be set to INH. what does that mean, really?

As I understand it, the channel is INHibited, meaning you can't set a value for it "directly." You can set up a mix value, like we're doing, and the switch will still zero the channel when flipped off, but you can't use it as a standard toggle anymore.
